Album Notes: Concentrating on Les Paul's mid-1940s period jazz work, this double disc set contains rare tracks and well as collaborations with masters of the genre such as Art Tatum and Nat King Cole. Paul would go on to produce pop hits with Mary Ford at Capitol records at the end of the decade, but this collection serves as an important document of his roots.
Advantages: Sturdy, looks great, sounds amazing Disadvantages: stigma of being epiphone and not gibson
...In my opinion this is a brilliant sturdy guitar, that is built to the highest quality of epiphone standards being its top of the range. Having played the cheapest gibson lespaul and most expensive epiphone lespaul custom i would settle for the epiphone every time, which is why i own one of those over the cheapest gibson lespaul.
The quality of build, i feel, is very superior to the quality of all other epiphone electric guitars and the binding and inlay is just beautiful.
The sound of this guitar is fantastic, far superior to the sound of my fender strat, peavey whitesnake signature and ESP viper, i would choose this guitar over them all for sound and if it ever got broke, lost or stolen i would definitely buy another one!...

Advantages: Value for Money, Built Well Disadvantages: Not as good sound quality as bigger budget models, Plain Design, Frets can be hard to navigate
...Lets get some things straight. This is a solid guitar. For the money its built very well and plays sweetly. This is a not quite cheap as chips but not too out of budget range guitar so it can't really be expected to play like some of the higher end models. Nevertheless its still a decent bit of kit. The design though, falls short for me however. The plain black I think suits a more metal orientated (shred) type guitar but not really the LesPaul. Regardless of the colour scheme, if you are becoming an intermediate player of the guitar, and want to spend about £220 on a new axe suitable for lots of genres, (especially Hard Rock & Blues) then this may be the one for you....

Advantages: Good, playable and easy to use standing or sitting. Disadvantages: What disadvantages?
...The Epiphone studio guitar that I own is the "limited edition, Gothic ,studio ,lespaul"
and therefore unsurprisingly this is the guitar I am reviewing.
The Epiphone Gothic lespaul is not to distant to it's Gibson cousin, it contains the same electronics and additional metal-wear (machine heads, dial heads etc.) the only major difference is that the Gibson is handmade and so costs a fortune!
The Epiphone is a body heavy guitar but is also still very light when compared to something like a B.C. Rich Warlock. The Gothic lespaul maintains the good tone and over all sound you would expect from Gibson but at Epiphone prices!
Clean Channel
---------------------
On a clean channel this guitar provides a good blues sound perfect for .....well blues.
If given the slightest overdrive it makes for a brilliant jazz...
