strives on the one hand for the fusion of jazz and HipHop items, on
the other hand inspires the Live jazz of instruments and its
sound this innovative music direction like a rich fertile
soil. The word spoken as Rap shows as a the printout of mental and political
sovereignty, manifests itself in the HipHop music in arrow-fast and
razor-sharp Rapping Vocals. Important sociopolitical topics are taken
up and music embodied at the same time hope, faith and a possible way
out of all the despair. Here we access the roots of the
black-inspired HipHop idea; Guru embodied with its epic rhymes an
honest and positive character and takes over the role of a teacher,
even a father. For a long time before virtual HipHop was available
records in the eighties, in the powerful Bronx already
first Turntable mix with disks of James Brown, Ray Ayers and Donald
Byrd were cut. In the early seventies Vynilartists already scratched&moved such as
Grandmaster Flash already mixed and even let tapes of Revox fly. The
jazz always injected the HipHop the certain Flavor. Under
the guidance of host Guru succeeds to the young musicians with the "
volume 1 " from " Jazzmatazz " in my opinion a bridging of the
generations.

Page A:
the Mentor Guru speaks the introduction, all
participating musician are introduced. The jazz becomes motive,
only one trumpet run, a loop becomes audible and simultaneous here to
the mental origin of Jazzmatazz. " loungin " underlaid of fat Beats
is able to blew your radio. Guru goes as a
singer into action; as always self-confident and positively and
its HipHop dream occurs. Jazzdinosaur Donald Byrd
improvised at the trumpets and at the piano and supplies an
outstanding performance. With the fat
HipHop TRACK " transit ride " continues it lively. HipHop meets on
Live jazz and becomes the link of the continents. Guru carries us
forward on a journey to New York; here course-rigidly that steps
evenly existed also in this modern world into the foreground and
speaks about all the bad. I believe, this music can many of the
everyday life tears heal; on the other page where I live here also
here in the heart of Europe. " NO time to play " featured DC Lee, a
female Soulsaengerin. Ronny Jordan
jammt in addition relaxed at the guitars and plays a quiet Blues. "
down the backstreets " tells a history from the Ghetto, of the
backyards of the large city. it sounds to me like
alive more consciously from humans played
instruments, Lonnie lists plays those akkustisches and electrical
piano parts it´s a wonderful, relaxing number.

Page B:
the second page of the record begins with " respektful
dedications "; a xylophon loop provides the appropriate
atmosphere here. " surely belongs take a look(at yourself) " Roy Ayers plays an inimitable improvisation at
the Vibes inspired from this inimitable flow, this Spirit, and exceeds
themselves my opinion after. Guru occurs again very self-confidently
and sings "... you live for yourself and all your chances have blown
away... "; contrary to it, because he created it on the other page.
"... you have to of DO it for yourself... " it reminds its brothers
and wants to them out a way out of their misery to point. " than most
" translated as much is called more slicker as " more cleverly than
other " Gary Barnacle plays first-class saxophone inserts. The melody
lit up in the time and slides on the gentle flow. " times "
MCSolar sings le bien, le; hiphop becomes the basis for the
fraternization of the continents. Influenced by TripHop Beat
we hear " sights into the town center " appears to us as rather
sad song, in addition, sadly, it is called "..got the
people crying got the people dying.. " it concerns of parting...
Courtney Pine at Sax and flute.

Result: The artistic experiment " Jazzmatazz " inevnted a new urban,
Be Bop jazz style, which found its high point with this composition in
the year 1993. On this factory the American HipHop of pioneers of the
recent time unites with renowned typists of the American Soul and
radio scene of the early twentieth century. That were not only the
first, successful jazz musicians of the twentieth century at all, them
belong also to the generation of artists, whose music was pressed for
the first time on records. Guru united the true pioneers of the BeBop
and Swing music with the music project " Jazzmatazz " all and with
them together enstand my opinion after almost timeless jazz and HipHop
a composition.
