Mr. Meek Brings the Wind of Change to Sixties Pop
Review of Original 60's Hits, The - Tornados by  Potless

Advantages: Over 50 minutes of great music
Disadvantages: None

...that were to make the later "Telstar" such a massive hit when it was released in August of that year, to great acclaim from both the critics and the public alike. Both found the combination of the group's pacey rhythm, unusual electronic tones, and Meek's superb production totally irresistible. ~ Electronic Trailblazers ~ Almost all of the tracks featured in the compilation feature a little-known electronic musical instrument called a Clavioline, which has also been featured on such hits as Del Shannon's "Runaway", The Beatle's "Baby You're A Rich Man", and numerous other prominent pop pieces from the pre-synthesizer era. It has a peculiar reedy voice, similar to that of a Stylophone, but with controls for altering the overall tone, octave range, and other parameters of the sound. It was originally designed as an adjunct to an electronic... Read review

Not Exactly Down To Earth
Review of Down To Earth - Ozzy Osbourne by  benraiben

Advantages: An album full of heavy rock tracks.
Disadvantages: Not for you if you just like "The osbournes" and not the music...

...I don't know about being "Down to Earth' - as the album boasts lyrics all about craziness and insanity, namely in the tracks 'Alive' and 'Can You Hear Them?". Impatient Ozzy fans had to wait for six years before the release of this album, however DOWN TO EARTH finally arrived. Whereas OZZMOSIS may have harkened back to Ozzy's early days of Black Sabbath, EARTH is unmistakably solo Ozzy. The album is anchored by the fantastic rhythm section of Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin, the playing on EARTH is exceptionally tight. Tim Palmer's production steers Osbourne in a melodic direction, as the album's use of strings, synth, and background vocals complements some of Ozzy's best vocal performances in years. Also, Zakk Wylde reprises his role as the lad guitarist. GETS ME THROUGH: This is often tagged as "the radio friendly 1st... Read review

This should be on UK radio!
Review of Me And My Gang - Rascal Flatts by  liz1102

Advantages: A Fantastic three-piece country group from the US
Disadvantages: Some tracks don't fit in

..., and that maybe you will fall down along the way, but learn to "decide you've had enough, you get mad, you get strong, wipe you hands, shake it off and then you stand." This is a good motivating song if you're feeling down or beat. By the time the song comes to an end you are thinking - yeah, I can do this! 2. What Hurts The Most 3:34 This is my favourite track on the album, and getting on for my all time favourite Rascal Flatts song. Unfortunately it's in a key that I just can't sing along at all! This one is also quite pop-y and wouldn't be out of place if it came onto UK mainstream radio. It's so sad, and beautiful. At the concert, they had the video playing on huge screens behind them, and it was just so powerful. The video tells the story of a guy and a girl, who initially split up because the girl's dad doesn't like him... Read review
