Advantages: Likable characters, simple yet enjoyable storyline Disadvantages: some people may dislike Kinsella's writing style
Since Reading the first two books in the Shopaholic Series I have became a fan of Sophie Kinsella, and out of all the books I have read there isn?t one which has disappointed me in the slightest. There has been one book which I thought was going to be a letdown as the story was pretty boring for the first couple of chapters but it soon picked up after that and was a really enjoyable book to read.
RememberMe? Tells the tale of Lexi Smart, 28 year old Lexi Smart wakes up in a Private London hospital and has the shock of her life. She has been in a car accident and has lost 3 years of her memory, Lexi still thinks she is 25 years old. Lexi gets more of a shock when she notices significant changes in her appearance and body; she has perfect manicured nails whereas 3 years ago her nails were all ragged and bitten, she has a nice toned ...
Advantages: Good storyline easy to get into Disadvantages: Is a little too 'fluffy' when dealing with the subject of memory loss
Imagine waking up one day, and your life was perfect. That?s what has happened to Lexi, last thing that she remembers was that she was 25, it was the night before her father?s funeral, she?s just been out with her mates for a night of cocktails, she?s got stood up by her boyfriend Loser Dave (the nickname that every calls him, even Lexi) and she?s missed out on getting this year?s bonus by a week.
Then she wakes up in hospital, she?s 28, not 25. She?s toned, she has straight teeth, she?s now the boss of her department, and she?s married, but not to Loser Dave, but to a good-looking man who has made millions in the property market. She now lives in a new loft apartment, even though the last thing she remembers is moving into her tiny flat in Balham, which in her time scale was two months before. Lexi now drives, not only that, but she ...
Advantages: A great entertaining read. Disadvantages: No follow up story
Sophie Kinsella has fast become one of my favourite authors, I began with the Shopaholic Series and although I enjoyed them some took a while to really get to the story and before you knew it the plot had come and gone but after reading the series of Shopaholic books I was unsure whether I wanted to read the additional books she had read but RememberMe was a book I found hard to put down.
Lexi Smart is in her mid twenties working in a dead end job for a carpet company, with a dead end boyfriend. Lexi is unlucky and on a Christmas night out she is stood up by her boyfriend, the only one to not get their bonus and to make matters worse she has her Dad's funeral the following morning, desperate to get home so that she can get some sleep before the harrowing morning that is to follow she finds catching a cab a little to difficult ...
