WHO IS HE?
Joshua Radin is a singer/song writer originally from Cleveland, Ohio. His songs have been featured on the comedy Scrubs (NBC) and the drama North Shore (FOX). Songs from his EP 'First between the 3rd and 4th' have been featured constantly on Scrubs, 'Winter' one of the songs from the album, was the most downloaded song ever featured on Scrubs. The version of 'Winter' was featured on Scrubs, was only a rough cut but, overwhelming demand lead the popularity of the song and a proper recording had to be done.
There is not much of a biography on him online because he an up and coming artiste. On his website, he describes his influences as everyone from Peter Gabriel to Steve wonder.

PACKING
The package is the standard CD packing with a painted picture of him (Joshua Radin) on the cover. Half his face is darkened so only half is seen, there is a raw emotion to the picture on the cover. It is really plain, simple and no nonsense, much like the songs on the album.

PRICE
The album is available from download on itunes for £4.74; it is on Amazon for $13.99.

REVIEW OF THE TRACKS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WINTER (duration: 3:34)
"I should know who I am by now,
I walk the record stand somehow,"
It opens with him singing 'I should know who I am by now' and that that just sells the song. I think the trick to this song and all his other songs is their simplicity, the cords on this song are so simple and it makes the song sound really delicate. (Featured on Scrubs season 3).
GIRLFRIEND IN A COMA (duration 2:47)
"Girlfriend in a coma, I know, I know, it's serious,
Girlfriend in a coma, I know, I know, it's really serious."
Girlfriend in a coma is supposed to be a cover of a Morrissey/smiths song but since I haven't heard the Morrissey version it is kind of hard for me to compare both songs. This is my least favourite song on the album, I just don't get it. Sometimes it seems tongue in cheek and sometimes it is just too severe.
DON'T LOOK AWAY (duration:3:36)
"my eye's reflection windows perfection
look and you'll see the things I can be…"
Don't look away is the most upbeat song on the album. Like his other songs, it starts with the guitar cord first and it paces you for what is yet to come. This is one of those songs you find yourself nodding to unconsciously on the bus. It was featured on Scrubs season 4.
TODAY (duration: 3.36)
"Shoelace is untied, you can dry your eyes"
Another upbeat song from the album (so no one can accuse him of being depressed), this song has a certain je ne sais quoi to it. I think listening to this song you get to hear to full extent of his voice, there is soulfulness and a depth to it and he just draws the listener in. Featured on Scrubs season 4.
THE ONE YOU KNEW (duration 3:01)
"I'm leaving but don't worry I'll be back again,
you're always right here and you're grieving "
Extremely solemn song one of the saddest songs on the album, it is very contemplative song. His voice over shadows the music in some parts but, it still works. It starts slowly builds up then, comes back down again. If I was forced to pick a weak song on the album, this would be it. It is not a bad song but it isn't as good as the other songs.
DO YOU WANNA? (duration: 2.42)
"you're sitting in your chair no ones around
your lights are turned down low "
The last song on the album and it is very reflective and I think it is great song to end the album with. I like the way he asks at the end 'end it all, do you wanna?'
CONS
~~~~
The album length, I think it is just too short. It is over before I can say 'I should know who I am by now'.

PROS
~~~~
Where do I start? Besides the length, there is really no downside to this album. It met up to my expectation, it has great lyrics and his words are carried beautifully by his awesome and soulful voice.
