I've already got the first two albums from the phonics and i was looking forward to the release of JEEP, or so i thought. I was stereophonics mad, they were great, with Kelly Jones possessing 'that' voice. Whether you were into r&b or rap music, the odd track such as "The Bartender and the Thief" and "Just Looking" was just cool. With "Mr Writer" having a lot of airplay, i was really excited about the forthcomming album.

As you can imagine i was down at my local music store on Monday 11th April. This was it, i was getting the new album. i got straight on the bus home and put it into my CD player...."What's this?" i thought as i was greeted by what sounded like strumming of guitars and women going "hhmmmmmm" and "ooohhhhhhh". i went onto the next track, and the next, i was very disapointed. What had happened to the phonics...?

I gradually listened to the album more and more, and i must admit, it has grown on me since. I have adjusted myself to the new mellow and slow approach from the phonics. However, you cannot beat their previous albums. i have now come to like the new album, but only with patience and gradual listening. i would say that this new album is definately different from kelly and crew, but at the same time pretty cool. I would describe the new album as 'Easy listening' and 'mellow' music. If you're a mellow person then this album is diffinately for you. Otherwise, if you buy this CD, i would recommend a lot of patience. Eventually it will cling on to your spirit, i'm pretty sure that it will eventually meet your taste, but patience is the key. if you're not a patient person, don't even bother picking it off the shelf.

Overall, i would recommend this album is at its best the morning after a long and heavy night out on the town. It is mellow but it also possesses a certain amount of coolness at the same time. i like it, i may not have done so at first, but i sure do now!!
