ROCKERS! Review ofVagabonds Of The Western World - Thin Lizzyby

Advantages: Old rock never sounds old! Disadvantages: Track 11 - I'd prefer to have tooth extraction without anaesthesia!
...), it is a slow bluesy track about a woman leaving a man and in one sense I think this already showing the diverse sound that Thin Lizzy could manage - this is more than just a plain rock album.....
....but that is where track 4, The Rocker, takes us, pure ROCK! Often used as an encore and you can understand why, a catchy riff all about being, well, a rocker, perhaps slightly autobiographical?! Lyrics say it all:
"Down at the juke joint me and the boys were stompin?
Bippin' an a boppin', telling a dirty joke or two
In walked this chick and I knew she was up to something
I kissed her right there out of the blue
I said "hey baby, meet me I'm a tough guy"
Got my cycle outside, you wanna try?

...and at that time we used tapes and long playing records. I had Diana Ross on a long player it was my favourite record and my husband put it on the top of a low wall outside in the garden to be played next - the sun decided it should not be a record anymore but a nice black bowl. Supremes Mania Spreads Across The World Review ofMore Hits By The Supremes/The Supremes Sing Holland-Dozier-Holland [Remastered] - Diana Ross & The Supremesby
IanPhillips
Advantages: Two of their very best studio albums Disadvantages: None!
...The Funk Brothers, having a much harder edge, diverting The Supremes into the Rock&Roll genre. Diana Ross' lead vocal performance is also far more assertive and she sounds as though she's virtually howling at the exalting climax when she sings "so go on, get out, get out of my life, and let me sleep tonight". Quite a detour from those sweet love songs like Baby Love. An adventurous and succesful experiment for Diana and the girls.
Their next single, the fabulous Love Is Here And Now You're Gone, propelled to No.1 becoming their NINTH chart topper. The Supremes chart action at this stage was just amazing where they effortlessly pumped out mega hit after mega hit! Ross glides along the verses with finesse delivering a divinely sensual performance whilst also talk-singing in that great, intricate voice on the chrous ( a unique technique...
