I have long been a fan of Irish music, and a fan of protest songs, from John Lennon to The Clash, so it is fair to say that I have a fair collection of Irish protest music, some of which has a distinctly anti-British feel.
Before anyone slates me for writing a review of well known IRA sympathisers' songs, many of which are very supportive of the IRA cause, let me say this.
Like it or not, there has been a conflict between the British and Irish for hundreds of years, and the troubles of the 70's and 80's were not new. It was inevitable that songs would be written, and inevitable that whoever wrote them would have a subjective slant.
This album is not just about the IRA by the way, it also chronicles other 'struggles' such as the Spanish Civil War and the El Salvador conflicts.

The latest book to head my way is none other than 'RSPV', written by author Tara Moore. Now when I first saw the book I had no idea what it was going to be like. I had never heard of Tara Moore before so her style was going to be completely new to me. However, the cover of the book itself is incredibly attractive. All we see is the neck and lower face of a woman, with a large glittering necklace around her neck. Now for ages I thought this read 'RSUP', and it wasn't until I went to find out more about the author before reading did I realise that this necklace actually read 'RSVP'. With that embarrassment out of the way, I was truly looking forward to reading.

On Saturday, 10th January 2004 we had a Maidstone Mini-meet. My fellow Ciao?ers came and consumed vast quantities of alcohol, while I myself stuck with Shandy throughout the day. The reason for this abstinence was because I had a date on Sunday with a man, young enough to be my son. Justin Timberlake, or JT for ease of typing, held his last London concert of his Justified world tour on Sunday 11th January before dashing off to Glasgow for the 14th. The later dates on this tour were an extension as he was so popular that thousands of fans were not able to get tickets for the early December 03 dates.
