An Utterly Impartial History of Britain Learning things is fun. Well, that?s what I tell my daughter now that she?s started school anyway. But it is true, increasing the sum of your knowledge is enriching and empowering and for this reason I like to mix up some educational non fiction on my daily commute amongst the normal run of pot boilers and pulp fiction. Now, as much as I like to learn things I don?t really want to have to think too hard if I can help it so most of these books need to be pitched at the right level. That might mean that they are aimed at a populist audience but as often as not it means they are written with an eye to the humour as much as the subject matter. Top Class!

I love TY beanies, they are utterly adorable! My friends and I have collected them for years and between us we own most of them, I think! One of these cute little animals is Class of 2004 the owl. Class of 2004: Class of 2004 is not exactly the name of this owl, but moreso what it stands for. Naturally is stands for all those who are in the class of 2004! For me it is not just a bear, but it symbolises my 'growing up'. I began secondary school in 2004, so it does me a lot to me! Not a great name for most, but for me it is special. St Ivel Utterly Butterly is my kind of dairy spread ,a brand launched in 1995 by the experienced and leading chilled Dairy products company ,Dairy Crest. As much as I would like to buy real butter regularly the thought of constantly fighting with that rock solid block trying to butter my bread doesn't really appeal to me ! St Ivel have done a good job here,the spread is creamy in colour and texture.It spreads really well on any type of bread,is exceptionally good on toast and crumpets and I find that it works well used for sauces and lightly frying foods . Cheerfully packaged in its buttercup yellow carton with the St Ivel logo tucked snugly in the corner.
