No doubt that this is the most original, creative and intriguing album ever. It is an absolute masterpiece and no other present bands can or has achieved this since it was released. If you think a present band has done better then please leave a comment and tell me the name of the band. Personally, I think Radiohead is one of the most serious bands ever, but I will explain to you what I mean when I do a write up just on Radiohead.

I have heard many people criticise this album and I think those who do, simply have no musical talent or respect. Although this is not Radiohead’s best album but it is Radiohead’s most creative masterpiece. It is completely new, and different to any other previous albums that they have done. There are less of the guitars and singing, so that is why it is essential to “listen” and “enjoy” the musical score.

Lots of people say that the singing is just awful, unclear and blurred on this album, but that is done deliberately to blend in with the atmosphere of the music. Radiohead almost always play guitars in their songs but not on this album. This album have proved to us that they can do more than just write good songs with guitars, and instead they can use a mixture of instruments to express what they want to in songs. I am not going to do a write up on each of the songs because it won’t be too coherent. It is also fully true that Radiohead can use items such as a television to create music, but I am not yet sure if they have done this in “Kid A”, although I can tell you they have used organs, pipes, synthesisers and more.

My first experience of listening to this album was a bit strange. When I bought it, I went home and played it knowing that it is going to be a whole lot different to Radiohead’s previous albums. I must admit, it did not appear to be too intriguing at first, but I did find it satisfactory. A week later I listened to it a couple of times again in consecutive days. The more I listened to it the better the album got. After listening to the album three times, it became an amazing album, and till now I still heavily enjoy it. I do not recommend anyone out there to listen to the album four times a day for a week, because that will just spoil the album. I just want to recommend people to listen to it once every two days or so for just over a week, and “really listen” to it, then I am sure you will like it.

”Kid A” consists of two or more B-side songs created by Radiohead probably years before “OK Computer” was released, however the songs have been altered quite a lot so that it perfects the album “Kid A”. There are two songs that I know were previously created probably years before “OK Computer”, and these are “How to disappear completely and never be found”, which is now changed to “How to disappear”, on Kid A and there is also “Motion picture soundtrack”. The old version of “How to disappear” and “Motion picture soundtrack” were both played with guitars and hardly had any background weird instruments, but they are still really good. You might be able to download the old version of the songs on the Internet if you are curious.

It is an album that some people will hate and never like, so it is hard to convince you to like it. I think Radiohead anticipated that there would be people who would dislike the album but the fact that they released it proves that they are not afraid to show everyone that this is their talented work. The album is purely genius in a sense because they managed to make each song have a meaning without many lyrics. Majority of the songs are instrumental all blending in together, some can sound weird yet enchanting, some can sound depressing yet meaningful, some can initially sound like noise yet become imagination, and some can be slow yet alive. The booklet you get with the album is filled with strange pictures and parts of strange drawings that don’t really articulate much, but maybe it is trying to say that this album is weird and wonderful?. If you are a musical type person then I definitely recommend this album, but if you are the type who has trouble relating to new material then I do not recommend it.

”Kid A” is original, instrumental and at its best. Personally I rate it 10/10.
