By now most people should know that the album is not the most accessible Radiohead have released and I'd agree. However, it is worth a little effort.
After the first listen, I was unsure but wanted to hear it again. After four or five listens I am hooked.
Half of the album shows the influence of the likes of Aphex Twin and DJ Shadow; half is more 'traditional' Radiohead. And I can't say which half I prefer. The whole of the album is darker than most of the rest of their work, however.
The album is fantastic sonically, by which I mean that it literally sounds very good, and it sounds awesome on a decent hi fi system.
Despite it's darkness, the album isn't as difficult to listen to as some reviews have suggested; the abstract, less structured nature of the songs lends the album a background music feel at times. At the same time, this can make it hard to listen to though. I'm probably contradicting myself, that itself is quite indicative of the album's character!
If you love everything that Radiohead have done, you will more likely than not like this, although it may take a few listens. If you only like the catchier, poppier side (or even the heavier guitar based side) then listen before splashing the cash.
Not sure if it's a classic. I certainly don't expect it to be instantly hailed as such; but time may alter people's opinion. The Bends contained songs, OK Computer did too, with some more experimental work. I'd say Kid A contains pieces of music. It's not better of worse than either of theire two most popular albums - it's just different.
One final thing - hidden underneath the tray where the CD sits, a second booklet can be found...

Review of Kid A - Radiohead
Advantages: Outstandingly original, groundbreaking album. Disadvantages: Lovers of Radiohead's perfectly crafted pop songs may not like this huge shift in style.
