This album is a mile away from OK computer, The Bends and Pablo Honey. If you ever laid your hands on the Airbag / how am I driving? EP then you will probably recognise the sound a little better. What is really astonishing is that Radiohead (of all people) have started using techno in their tracks. Its a brilliant, beautiful album: not as commercial as in the past, but Radiohead don't need to be commercial anymore! Some of the sounds reminded me of Super Furry Animals's "Guerilla": the melancholy, psychedelic techno: samples of some truly bizarre sounds. It seems that Radiohead have decided that now they have achieved commercial success, they are willing to put this on the line in order to produce a really experimental album. Most of the tracks are great, though. My favorite at the moment is "How to disappear completely" which is really great. Its a landmark album, and has been hailed as the destruction of pop. Its worth buying.
