How the memories come flooding back!
Upon watching BBC Choice over the last few weeks, they have been showing the "Highlander" trilogy. As a result of this, a little part of history came flooding back to me. This came in the form of the Queen album " A Kind Of Magic".
For the uninitiated this album is used throughout the original "Highlander" film (and subsequent sequels), and has to rate as one of the best rock albums ever produced, and a defining moment in their work. From the hard rocking "Gimme The Prize" to the haunting ballard of "Who Wants To Live Forever" this is a must buy for anyone with even a small amount of good judgement or taste in music. The track list is as follows:

Side 2 : Who Wants To Live Forever Gimme The Prize Don't Lose Your Head Princes Of The Universe
The album istelf is a combination of rock,pop and ballards and is a credit to the groups long list of hit albums. The sorely missed Mercury is in superb form, belting out hit after hit with a force which will never be vocally surpassed. The usual meaty guitar riffs and melodies supplied by Brian May are to his usual high standards (check out the intro to "Gimme The Prize - wicked!). Sing-song anthem "Friends..." has the usual charm of a "We Will Rock You" style pop song, whilst the wonderfully haunting "Who Wants To Live Forever" will stay in your mind for a long time. For those of you who have ever seen "Highlander" then you will know what I'm referring to. For those of you who haven't, then I suggest you listen to this (especially on CD as it sound amazing) or consider yourself severely deprived of an item which belongs in anybodys music collection
