...This is my second fave musical. The story is so gripping full of tradgedy, romance and a bit of humor. The opening to the show is always my favourite part along with kims nightmare. On the cd the track 'Kims Nightmare' is not in full it starts from half way through and is cut short at the end also which is a little but dissapointing. The way that the sound of the helicopter starts everything off at the begining of the cd the way it does in show is great. Starting off quite then gradually getting louder sounds awsome surround sound. It makes me feel like I'm there. The voices of the cast are powerful and portrays alot of what the character is feeling at that given time which made it easier for me to imagine it when I listened to it. I had just been going through different phases of music genres, Rock, Hip-Hop,Pop,R&B, but I didn't take to them too much. I prefer more relaxing music, not classical but just more of a Drum and Bass type genre to give me that tingle up my spine like some music does... The King & I stars Yul Brynner is the Broadway role that made his career and won him an Oscar, and Deborah Kerr as the English women who arrives in Siam to tutor the countless wives and children of the King. The two clash over cultural differences and each learns about the other's world. Rodgers & Hammersteins fine musical settings are delivered to a good effect in this Digitally Remastered Edition available on this 21 track CD from many music outlets priced between £8.69 - £12.99. The cheapest price I found at Tesco - which is where I bought this and the dearest I have found this CD was in HMV costing £12.99. Got myself another bargain, eh... Read review
