...because, of all this strife, King For A Day is one of Faith No More’s finest recordings (Angel Dust beats it by being more consistent). Most of the album was written without a guitarist and in a rather scary move, Mr Bungle guitarist Trey Spruance was recruited to take up six stringed duties (If you want to be really scared think about the fact that this album came out at a similar time to Mr Bungle dark, noisy masterpiece Disco Volante with ... ...effective song.
* King for a Day *
Not at all gentle acoustic guitars, a bright and breezy bass line and growing synth chords start the song off as Patton does a strange calm growl vocal delivery, the song builds up to an anger fuelled middle section which ends on a screaming crescendo before returning to a slightly haunting version of the beginning of the song. * What a Day *
Make it short and sweet ‘they’ told Faith No More. “Kill ...

Advantages: Wonderfully Faith No More. Real music. Disadvantages: ...
What can I say? Faith No More are a very good band. I never understand why people, having heard a few good songs by any one group, announce, “I Like Band X” and then, no matter what tosh Band X produce, keep on insisting that they like Band X. It’s the mindless fanboy trap. Despite all that, “I Like Faith No More”. Sure, some of their songs are not as good as the rest but by on large the average Faith No More song is really, really good. Faith No ... ...hip-hop and an element of funk. “King For a Day, Fool For a Life Time” is not there best album but I would still rather give in a spin than many of the best albums by other artists I have in my collection. The talented Mike Patton returns on vocals for the third time. The rest of the band fired the original singer, Chuck Mosley after “We Care A Lot”. For the recording of this album Trey Spruance the guitarist from Mr Bungle (another of Mike Patton’s ...

Kings in their lifetime Review ofKing For A Day Fool For A Lifetime - Faith No Moreby

Advantages: More mighty magnificence minus Martin Disadvantages: Not quite as good as 'Angel Dust'
Okay, a review of my favourite band's fifth studio album. Here goes....
As you may know, Faith No More were about the most credible band anywhere ever, in 1993. After the mighty and defining 'Angel Dust', Faith No More could do anything. They were impossibly cool. Not many groups would take an album as successful and loved as 'The Real Thing', and radically alter their sound and vocals to the point of almost alienating their original fanbase. But ... ...terms. Even their record company begged them to make 'Angel Dust' more commercial. But after that, the band were legends, both in their music and radically different characters, both in personalities and appearances.
Mike Patton was the idol, thick, slicked black hair, goatee, eyebrow ring and menacing smile. in 1992, Mike Patton had metamorphasised from long-haired goofy prankster in surf shorts, to the picture of cynical youth, both in his attitudes ...

King for a lifetime Review ofKing For A Day Fool For A Lifetime - Faith No Moreby
Excelle
Advantages: Great track with variety and good quality Disadvantages: Screaming
I like to think I have broad horizons as far as music goes. When I was introduced to Faith No More however, I was a little dubious - I've never had much of a high opinion of this sort of music. I must say I've been converted though - at least to Faith No More - they combine a variety of styles to create an album that's more of an experience than just a simple collection of songs.
If you look at the composition of the album, you'll see what I mean. ... ...- the track that introduced me to Faith No More. It's quite a brash, in-your-face track with impressive usage of guitar and drums. It's also quite lyrically rich - I like the line `And the shadows so big, they take the sun out of the day'.
As a complete contrast, track 3 - Evidence - is very chilled, the kind of thing you can just relax and let flow over you, with some nice bass guitar and piano work. Other good tracks include `Get Out' and `Just ...

One Sorely Missed Band Review ofKing For A Day Fool For A Lifetime - Faith No Moreby
Carlito25
Advantages: A fusion of different styles and sounds with the unique FNM twist Disadvantages: They self-destructed
Why, oh why (apart from all the in-fighting from day one !) did this truly great(and extremely funny) band have to break up?
I truly miss their music, their originality, the stories of their... well, Mike's next stunt (drinking the bottle of you know what thrown on stage during one of their gigs - lovely).
Great songs, weird and wonderful lyrics. Interesting videos. The beauty of this band is that you just never knew what they were going to do ... ...it off with true style - Easy, I Started a Joke - need I say more ? They put the majority of the bands of today to shame (Do I sound old ?) With their fusion of styles and sounds Faith No More could never ever be pigeonholed - thank god - though many tried.
I can not recommend just one of their albums, they must all be savoured, but a starting point for beginners would be their Greatest Hits album.
Do youself a favour and check out this band - ...
