.... this is wonderfully weird and atmospheric, with a triumphant creschendo. IIIII. Um Espectro Sem Escala This is a high pace disoreantating bit of surf punk rock, instruments drop in and out with abandon, whilst samples attack the senses. This sounds like a fight by Dick Dale and Link Wray on Mars. This runs straight into...... IIIIII. Many Peices Of Large Fuzzy Animals Gathered Together at A Rave Schmoozing With A Brick. Weirdness abounds here the surf guitar solo is accompanied by drumming as tight as my jeans and very weird sampling going on. IIIIIII. (4 Sided Geometric Shape) Here they head straight into some great surf guitar work with no messing arround just because they can and it makes a break from the general weirdness of the rest of the album. ...This is an album of duets. BB king picks out his favourite musicians not just from the world of vlues and performs his tunes with them. A criticism would be that there is not much variation in the songs (all BB’s sound very very similar) but I suppose that the originality comes in the variety of partners. The tracy chapman number is pleasant and the one with mick hucknall is brilliant, their voices finding a beautiful harmony. The guitar work with eric clapton is as expected bery good but BB is upstaged by Bonnie Raitt’s slide guitar in track 5. The stones make an appearance and later on some more modern artists are there. This album is easy listening in its essence.... Read review

Advantages: An excellant erminder of how good the Ants were, even on b-sides
Disadvantages: More punky than the hits

...During 1980 -81 Adam Ant was the no#1 pin-up, with pirate costomes and red indian make-up, and still managed to maintain a musical credibility with the double drum burandi beat accompanying all his songs. However prior to this Adam was a leather clad bondage obsessed punk and this cd collects the songs he wrote in this period which were later released as b-sides to all the hits. Those b-side babies in full are: Fall-in - an adrenalin fueled tribute to punk venue the screen on the green Making History - actually on Kings of the Wild frontier album, but apparently not released in the US - features the trademark Ant drum sound, one of the few songs in this collection to do so.
