Advantages: Some decent rhythm and blues Disadvantages: Film dialogue in the wrong places
...and that's exactly what this song is. It's a guitar led, generic blues number which doesn't really stick out above any other blues song you've heard before, although it's still a decent enough song. It worries me, however, that the song is so generic I keep thinking it's about to segue into the Lisa Simpson song "Moanin' Lisa Blues" from the "The Simpsons Sing the Blues" album.
Whilst I do like hearing it as an accompaniment, I've never really rated the harmonica as an instrument in its own right. For me, that makes John Popper's "Harmonica Musings" a filler track. It's impressive enough and John Popper is considered one of the best players around, but it's just 30 seconds of a waste of space, although it does start sounding a little like Stevie Wonder's "Fingertips" right towards the end.
Finally, four tracks in, we get to hear from one...

Advantages: Decent entertainment Disadvantages: Non-fans of the show will just think they've ruined the songs
...probably be even more grateful about this than I am and even fans of "The Simpsons" will struggle to find anything in this worth listening to.
"Springfield Soul Stew" is a reworking of King Curtis' "Memphis Soul Stew", performed by Marge Simpson. She's really not the best person to be performing the track, although as it's in the form of a recipe, she's really the only one who could do it. It's a slightly disjointed soul track with a great horn section and a decent funky vibe, but I'm not convinced I'd be a fan of this song, no matter who it was performed by. As a fan of "The Simpsons", it is vaguely amusing to hear how uncomfortable Marge sounds when she's taken so far out of her natural element, but that's really about the only good thing I can say about it.
The album closes with a couple of original numbers, with Monty Burns...

Advantages: Some amazing, original tracks Disadvantages: Not to everyone's taste
..."The world will know that this is the biggest mix tape on road, The world will know that Baby Blue is a heavy lyricist, The world will know that she's light skinned, The world will know that she's from south London, The world will know she's rolling with Ace and Invisible"
I don't really think there is a better way to introduce this CD than to use the words of Ace and Invisible, It is probably the best way to introduce the 20 year old female British hip hop artist that has gained my respect recently.
This full name of this mixtape CD is Out of the Blue Volume 2 - The world will know, and follows up her first CD, out of the Blue. And while ciao does not specify what volume this category is for, all the product information corresponds with that of this CD, now we have that cleared up let us get on with the music.
I cannot stop...
