Advantages: It's not a bad metal album

.... The Desecration of Hector's Body Part 1 Part 2 VIII. The Glory of Achilles This is the epitome of all that is Manowar. Crunching guitar, varied changes in melody, then quieter moments; He-Man vocals, grit and heroism. It is a classically long tune and one that has (almost) stood the test of time. The Death of Patroclus and Funeral March are the main highlights of this epic journey into Manowar Metal. ?I will not rest until Hector?s blood is spilled? His bones will all be broken, dragged across the field? This dear friend is how we?ll say goodbye, Until we meet again in the sky?? That is just a sample of the lyrics to the song, and on the whole they are pretty good, some of the best lyrics to come from the pen of Joey DeMaio, in my view. Advantages: The kings of metal!
Disadvantages: not very PC

...was beaten by someone else, but whether or not they have reclaimed it I don't know. Getting back to their albums, Manowar really came of age with the album 'Fighting the World' they even had a chart hit with the single 'Blow your Speakers'. Every song on the album is slick, hard and heavy, some of the subject matter could be considered cheesy I suppose, but if you like films like Conan the Barbarian, you'll love every minute of it. FTW was followed by the monster album 'Kings of Metal', fantastic production coupled with awesome songs made people who laughed at the title think twice after they had heard it. The ballad 'Heart of Steel' is so heartfelt (no pun intended) that the hairs on the back of your neck will be on end from start to finish. They recorded Into Glory Ride then Hail to England and then it was tour time. They invaded Great Britain, then conquered Europe, recorded Sign of The Hammer and made it into Guinness book of world records. Then it was Fighting The World and Kings of Metal before returning to America. Four years later in 1992 was The Triumph of Steel, then two years for Louder Than Hell.
