I am currently continuing my education, with the aim of being a lawyer. Idealistically I would like to be a politician (theres a first) and change things, however realistically chances of that are.. well none!

Any album you want to buy- I know where its at- I have them all! I can also probably tell them where to get them! Ok- everybody has their own opinions on different kinds of music! I love Bob Marley- his music had a kind of originality, and it really cheers you up. There has been a sort of Bob Marley revival- which I'm glad to see- as it means I can play it almost whenevr I want without as many complaints from my flatmates- (They tend to be from my accompanyment as it is!)I have been into Bob Marley since I was tiny- my older cousin used to love him; I have all the albums so you want an honest, critical, useful opinion- I'll tell you what I think! If you want an opinion on a particular album- I suggest you scroll through and find it- this is a rather long opinion!
Legend The album everybody is talking about at the moment is Legend; call me a snob, but I think this album is too comercialised. It has all the songs that were Bob Marley, but that you have heard over and over again. It has the songs everybody knows, and therefore either know they hate them or love them. If
you want the real Bob Marley, you should be going for some of his less well known albums; the less comercialised sound- which is much more relaxed and original reggae- his sound before his breakthrough. Some of the songs are a bit short- but for all your favourite old-time tracks. I recommend this album.
Exodus This album is a lot harder to get hold of, Our Price has a special deal on- or at least had (I think it was Our Price- apologies if it wasn't)- two Bob Marley albums for £15! (Don't know if it's still on- but the albums must still be stocked. You tend to find them more in the hippier shops. Like all Bob Marley albums it is not great to look at- but don't judge a book (or a cd for that matter) by it's cover. More of the lyrics on this album are personal- from his harder times, they are deeper that the songs on Legend. It has quite a few of the same songs as Legend. If you're looking for the deeper side of Marley- here it is- though if you're not it is still great music.
Catch a Fire This album is controversy from the start- he has a joint on the front cover! The lyrics of the songs on this album are more bitter snipes at the World- but not depressing- more uplifting opinions. (thats what we're all about!) A lot of the album is aimed at the slave trade- as was most of his music.) Most blatantly- slave driver. This album is a great mix- it has some great pure, simple and original reggae tracks- kinky reggae, and also the deeper tracks- but still very deffinately excellent reggae!
Live This album features alot of his popular songs played live- it has a great atmosphere- but I wouldn't really recommend it for listening to- the music is not so pure. There are squeaks and things on the tracks- mayber for a party- but I would still recommend the other albums more- this one if only to complete your collection!
Natty Dread This album is one of great reggae- the sort that really uplifts your soul-and cheers you up! The lyrics aren't as good- but for the greater party; rether than the chilling house party- you want the=is album!
Rastaman Vibration Very like the last album- almost too similar. But again good, banging reggae- I prefer Natty dread though- it has a greater mix of tracks and songs- not as stuck in a rut (You know what I mean)!
Uprising I love this album- it's is one complete uprising- the lyrics are extremely- almost ashamedly thought inspiring. The music is great too! If you're one of those people to whome appearance matters- it looks good too! Get this album if you want the reggae experience- along with all the emotion!
Dreams of Freedom The problem with Bob Marley- is so much of his music was very personal- his lyrics are always extremely inspiring, and thought provoking if you let them be. You just have to chill and soak them up. Very much focused on the slave trade- and issue obviously extremely close to his heart. The mix of songs on this album is not so great- it is more about the lyrics than anything else.
Chant Down Babylon More focused on the religious side of life- which Bob Marley always had an inward battle with. This album is not as uplifting as the rest. If you're not in the right mood for it- it could almost depress you slightly.
Survival Another confrontational, controversial album. to bre listened to for the ultimate rebelious- angrey with society lyrics- yet somehow at the same time nto depressing. For those moments that you despair in our political system! This has a great mix of songs- form slow reggae- to fast dance reggae- all with great lyrics!
This opinion is getting very lengthly- I'll just tell you about a one more- comment if you want to know about any others!
Talkin' Blues Very original- deffinately Bob Marley before commercialism. The original untainted reggae sound- Great for and= hour of pure great soul raising reggae!
Rebel Music Another of his priome- deffinately has Bob Marleys attitude written all over it! The lyrics are rebellious; but the sound of this album differs slightly from the others, it rebels almost from the clique of reggae.
Comment if you want to know about the others- soz if it's long!
