Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, that is. His King Arthur is not the medieval magic of much-loved legend. Instead, going back to the Dark Ages, this film professes to recreate the origins of those stories, an allegedly real-life warrior, Arturius, half-Roman, half-Briton, leader of a pack of Salmatian knights (yes, I kept hearing Dalmatian) including Gawain, Galahad and of course Lancelot, whose unerring spirit, loyalty, and fearless prowess in battle gave rise to great stories in his name, especially once united to fair Woad princess Guinevere.
You?d think he?d have a little more spark, then.

Advantages: Original plot, easy to read, funny Disadvantages: Chick Lit again!
***The plot***
The main character is Heather, who works as a wedding photographer and dreams of her big break, working at a national paper. She lives in Little Venice, and feels her life is far from perfect, with her lack of money, perfect figure, and a bad relationship with her stepmother Rosemary, and is always making those little wishes that we all do when things aren't perfect, "I wish I could lose those few pounds, I wish I could get a seat on the tube" and so on. One day she is coerced into buying some lucky heather (ooh, the coincidence) from a gypsy woman (you know the type, 'be lucky darling!'), and suddenly, her every day wishes start coming true, as well as the big ones. She gets a new flatmate, an American stand-up comic to replace her once live-in boyfriend and to help her pay the mortgage, she finally gets to meet ...

been good, but their Customer service is second to none, and they admit when they make mistakes (and send me wine for the pleasure!).
On the occasions that I have had to contact their Customer Services department over the phone, my call has been answered quickly. Upon contacting Natwest via phone, you are given the choice to use their Telephone banking Service, should you wish. Alternatively, you are able to speak to an advisor. Although they do use an automated service, you only need to press around 2 buttons in order to get through to a human being.
I've never really taken advantage of any of Natwest's other financial services. I have been happy with my bank account and would be lethal with a credit card so haven't applied for one. However, we are going to get a mortgage this year and we will definitely consider Natwest ...

They were the Ace of Base of their day, an electro-soul-pop unit whose mass appeal spanned the generations from boomers and their grans to X-ers and nexters. The half-dozen hits Go West chalked up in the mid-'80s barely reflect their omnipresence at the time, with their music a mainstay of radio and clubs, TV and movies. When they reappeared after an extended hiatus in 1990, they made their presence felt all over again. However, when you define your times, it's difficult to escape from them, and Go West found themselves incapable of moving on, and so the scene moved on without them--at least until a new generation grew up nostalgic for an age they could barely remember. And while many other groups from the day have incorporated more modern styles, or at least give the impression of having heard music recorded post-1993, Go West remain stuck unabashedly in the past. But that presumably is precisely where their fans, young and old, want them, sounding virtually indistinguishable from their records of yore. This may be a live set, and the audience cheers robustly between songs, but there's nothing here to suggest it's not for a DJ who's spinning a set of their hits, for the 17-song set list from this 2003 London show was culled almost exclusively from their chart fodder, the arrangements varying slightly in sound, but not in intent. There's the title track (which graced the PRETTY WOMAN film), of course, as well as "We Close Our Eyes" (their biggest hit), "Call Me," "Don't Look Down (The Sequel)," "Faithful" (which revived their career), and "Tracks of My Tears" (which still can make Smokey Robinson fans blanch). If you think Go West performed unchallenging, bland, overly lush soul for the soulless, this set won't change your mind, but for those who found that their songs' timeless melodies and charged emotions rang true, this is a wish fulfilled.
