Advantages: The best album yet, fanastic choice of songs

...To date this is my favourite Katherine Jenkins album. It has a great mx of both classical and modern songs on it. My favourite being (Quello Che Faro) Sara Per Te (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. This is the Bryan Adams song from the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. It has rewritten in Italian and sound fab. Bryan Adams plays the guitar during the song. I also believe that he took the pictures for the album cover. Hopefully this album will win her, a third classical Brit Award in 2007. Advantages: Great singing and lively performances

...beat Kiri Te Kanewa’s Countess – if you want to focus on the character of the Countess, then go for one with Kiri). The orchestra (the English Baroque Soloists) play on period instruments (and this recording is pretty much the only Figaro which does this, so if you’re looking for authenticity you’re choice is rather limited!). If you’re a traditionalist, you might be disappointed with this recording; as with many of Gardiner’s recordings, many of the arias are taken at a rather hasty speed (particularly the Countess’s ‘Porgi Amor’), which I think works very well, but I realise that others may not share this view! Another note of caution is that, like many productions, it does cut some of the fourth act, omitting Marcellina’s aria, so if that’s one you particularly want, then I... Read review
