Advantages: Beautiful vocals, creative lyrics, varied and interesting to listen to - even the Hebrew tracks Disadvantages: Some say that Metheny was too much of an influence on this album - but for me, that's an advantage!
the Pope (her first appearance in front of him, and the first one by any Israeli). Using the classic melody we all know as a basis for this song, she changes very little in order to get her point across. This one is a real collectors item.
You should know that this was the first album that Noa released outside of Israel, and was her first album in English. But she certainly wasn't the first Israeli artist to find her way to the international scene. No, the first was OfraHaza with her unique Yeminite songs. Noa owes a great deal to the late Ms. Haza, not only for her break into the international music scene, but also for helping other Yeminite women in Israel find their own voice. But Noa is no copycat of OfraHaza. Not even close. While OfraHaza sang almost only in the Middle Eastern vent, Noa brings the taste of those sounds into ...

Advantages: Good recording quality, and professional performances all round. Disadvantages: Pointless additional commerical tracks which bring the overall album quality down.
The score for The Prince of Egypt is, for me, the best for
any animated film since The Lion King. Dreamworks' first
major animation outshone anything produced by Disney at
the same time, and the CD goes some way to showing why
that was.
The orchestral cues are all written by Hans Zimmer and are
of his usual excellent standard. The pieces written for
the sequences where Moses meets God in the burning bush
and for the crossing of the Red Sea are awe-inpsiring even
when divorced from the on-screen action, and real emotion
is conveyed in such tracks as 'Goodbye Brother' where the
essentially wordless vocals are provided by OfraHaza.
But the big treat of the score is the sextet of songs
written by Stephhen Schwartz. His musical style has
evolved considerably since the days when he wrote the
bpuncy scores ...
of Enigma and other equally relaxing tunes, I love it.
MOST THOUGHT PROVOKING-
This has to be "Depeche Mode" and their album "songs of faith and devotion" lots of meaningful words.
ONE YOU MOST REGRET BUYING-
what, only one !!!!
ONE YOU'VE BORROWED, BUT KEEP FORGETTING TO GIVE BACK-
To be honest I am pretty good. People tend to pinch DCs off me and never give them back !
ALBUM YOU WISH YOU'D MADE YOURSELF-
Too many to only list one, I love OfraHaza (God rest her Soul), Andrea Bocelli, and numerous Arabic artists whose music is absolute heaven.
ALBUM YOU PUT ON WHEN YOU?RE GETTING READY TO GO OUT-
Probably some dance compilation. I do love a good dance choon, some of my faves include:-

Lost brothers "Cry little sister"
Deja Vu "To deserve you"
iio "Rapture"
Plus many, MANY others ...

Album Reviews
Dirty Linen (Dec./Jan. 92-93, p.70) - "...her Yemenite/Israeli roots shine through a high-tech contemporary production, never straying too far from home...may this be the beginning of the next era in the world fusion of music..." Option (Jan/Feb 93, p.94) - "...a couple of the dance tunes here are given almost hip-hop treatment....may be Haza's best record to date...."
