Kodály: Te Deum & Missa brevis

...Don't be put off by the title Missa Luba 'An African Mass' or think that it's 'too high-brow'! Missa Luba is a wonderful example of African rhythms and percussive instrumentation - drums and shaken gourds - with traditional African 'call and response' melodies together with additional harmonies. Based on the traditional Mass the work consists of just five tracks - Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei - and is just over fifteen minutes long. The remainder of the recording consists of 10 Kenyan Folk Melodies. These too are as wonderful and refreshing as the Missa Luba . Ideal for the 'serious' listener, as background music or for those who wish to listen to something a little different. Go on. Give it a try; you will be glad you did. Advantages: Great talents
Disadvantages: The talents wore out and were never that good!

...Having written this opinion a while back now, the actual splitting of STEPS has not affected me at all! This opinion was all hyped on how long STEPS were going to last written back in 2001! Now they have actually split up... StEpS WAS a band of 5 which included Faye, Lisa, claire, Lee and H who had been around for quite a while and finally realised there time was up! I have no right to say that STEPS were a complete failure because they were totally 100% not! They were a sucessful band/group but came and went just like the once famous 'sPiCe gIrLs' but sTePs actually split making their ' long era' actually come to a shooting halt!
