I was playing Guitar Hero one day and noticed that one of Lacuna Coils songs was a playable track. I thought it was quite good. I had heard briefly of Lacuna Coil before and now i sought to look for more of their music. I went down to HMV to buy one of their ablums and the cover of Karmacode amongst other things stood out to me. I bought it and went home and while I was listening to it i just didn't turn it off. All of the tracks that were on the album definitely deserved another listen. One of the songs that really stood out to me on the Album was the song "Enjoy the Silence", a Depeche Mode cover. What really got me in this song was the was Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro's (the lead singers) voices really connected together and sound so right for each other. It was definitely different to any other rock songs I had heard from artists that are described as similar to them such as Evanescence and Within Temptation. It sounded like a song that would stand out amongst other songs. Another song that I thought was exeptional was "Our Truth". It definitely differed largely from the rest with use of unusual instuments such as the sitar and the dulcimer which wouldn't usually be used in rock music. What struck me about that was that it worked really well with the music. Scabbia's vocals used on this song are exeptionally powerful and make the music sound great. Ferro is used for backing vocals and this is done without a flaw. Overall this album is one that i thought was really different to music you would hear today. It is a lot more consistant than the mainstream music that usually gets airtime on radio stations.
