Well, i dont know about the rest of you who like the phonics, but i think they are getting back to their best stuff. I have all four albums, Word Gets Around obviously the best, with Performance and Cocktails a close 2nd, but what happened after that i dont know.
Dont get me wrong, JEEP and You Gotta Go There To Come Back are good albums, but i think it was a huge change. Thank god for this album. Good lyrics, fast pace, rock on!
The cover is very stylish and i think goes with the quality if the album. The best song has to be Devil followed closely by Dakota. When Dakota was released i new straight away the album would be great.
I could sound a bit biased being welsh myself, but the phonics have to be one of the best bands in Britain. If you want good music i would suggest buy this album. I have listened to it many a time before going out on the town and it has really got me in the mood.
P.S. This is for the people who want a bit more info on the album! Didnt know you had to write so much to get a good review? I aint going to pretend i am a a person who can write superb reviews so i am just going to give the jist of it!
I didnt think the phonics would be the same after the great stuart cable left! But it seems i was wrong! I dont know why he left but i have seen him a few times since and he seems to be ok! Last time i saw him he was at the Grand Slam party in Cardiff to celebrate Wales winning the Grand Slam! Did i mention that Wales won the Grand Slam? He was interviewing all the players!
Anyho, The Track list goes as follows : - 1) Superman - Good song, good lyrics, very upbeat! And it lasts for 5 mins (Class) This song should def come out as a single. 2) Doorman - Good track, although it did take me a few listens to get into it 3) Brother - Very Similar to number 2, very rock like, and again one or listens needed 4) Devil - As i have mentioned above the best song on the album, starts off with a bit of talking between a couple then a slow type pace, then bang, straight into the chorus which is superb. 5) Dakota - You all should know this song and dont need me to tell you how great it is 6) Rewind - One of the slow ones on the album and a different style to the rest, but has a good pace, lyrics are great and its one of those mellow songs you can chill to. Listen to it and you will like it 7) PedalPusher - Absolutely brilliant song, Great beat, great lyrics and i would suspect the girls out there would love the one bit of the song! But yoou have to buy it to see lasses! : ) 8) Girl - Great lyrics, good song 9) Lolilta - Not the best song on the album, a couple of listens and it will get you there, but could skip it without a problem 10) Deadhead - Brilliant, goes with the great pace and rockiness(dont think this is a word) of the album. 11) Feel - I think this is a week song and totally different to the pace of the rest of the album, One for the mellow types here.
Sooooo, good value for money, well worth the trip to the shops or for the quick thinking people, buy it off the net! Cheers!

Good review, just enough detail about each of the songs. It is a good album, although I think my favourite is Performance and Cocktails. Going to see the phonics next month YaY!
