..., The Clash brought us '(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais.' Which, in the title alone, we find the date of this track, as we have lost count how many times this venue has changed it's name over the years! Counted in like a live set, this track features the soon to be familiar backing vocals of 'football hooligans,' all woo wooing. With its reggae theme, the Punkness of the Prince himself, Mr Strummer features still heavily in his voice and never failed throughout his career. The sound comes to us as a Specials track, little tongue in cheek and racially probing in its title. Aware of the scene in society at the time, they wrote lyrics of reality and truth, ..'White youth, black youth, they won't notice anyway, they're all too busy fighting for a good place under the lighting.' Advantages: Everything.
Disadvantages: It makes every other album sound crap.

...because of the way it starts. Following this is Remote control, a song the band later disowned, due to CBS releasing it without the band's permission.It is the only song from the album that was released as a single in the exact same version.Excellent lyrics, but the music is a bit slow, altough this acts as a sort of calm before the storm of the next two songs. I'm so Bored with the U.S.A is a track that is awesome in every sense.Songs like this are the reason I love this album so much,ever hear people talking about punk bands having 'Venom', this song alone contains enough to kill a Rhino. Then comes White Riot - If the last track had enough venom to kill a Rhino, this would take down Godzilla.This was included instead of the single version for a reason.It was also recorded essentially live,due to its title, its often... ...of Pearlman and were not convinced by the band opting for the old 60's mod producer Guy Stevens to handle their new album, whispered to be a double. Yeah, we used to love The Clash, but they've lost it, they're just another bunch of Stones copyists - I'm so bored with the USA - right, only because you spend all your time over there, suckers...... However, the spate of singles the band had put out (all steadfastly unpromoted by the band on the hated Top of the Pops) - 'White Riot', 'Complete Control', 'Clash City Rockers', the sublime '(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais', 'Tommy Gun' - had chronicled this development and saw them sharpening their focus at each turn, with the 'London Calling' single outdoing them all and peaking at number 11 in the charts - their fanatical following had stayed with them throughout the 'Rope' debacle and they were...
