moby - lastnight
I have always been a fan of Moby?s work most obvious tracks from the ninetee's in 'go', and most recently the itv formula one signature track ?lift me up?, and also the james bond theme of ?tomorrow never dies?. It is something about the style and the rhythm of the music played along with these track's tempted me into buying this album.
I tend to find his music rather easy to listen to as the artist demonstrates in these particular tracks alone, that the music is particularly well dressed up from start to finish. This album by genre is more electronically music based compared to some of his previous albums. So instrumentally speaking the use of a keyboard synthesiser was the album?s main focus point. The album was released at the end of March of this year, and the total music playing time is just under sixty five ...

Advantages: loads of variety Disadvantages: Denise Robertson
Reading another Ciao member's opinion on ThisMorning inspired me to add my own thoughts on the subject.
This programme has gone from strength to strength. Originally the set was based in The Albert Dock in Liverpool and as this is my home town, it was very easy to jump in the car and spend an idle day there, especially during the summer holidays. It was really amusing watching people standing around and peering into the large smoked glass windows at Richard & Judy (we never did of course!!!)Although on the television the windows looked clear, they were actually very dark and it was rather difficult to see into the studios from outside. I am sure people didn't realise how funny they looked on screen, squinting and straining to see what was going on.
We would watch Fred on his British Isle, jumping from region to region. It was ...

A great British film that I really enjoyed. According to the BBC review this is : "a fascinating film, and a snapshot of an era that's depressingly all too real."
"Finney exhibits a talent and screen-presence here that helped make him a star. Meanwhile, director Reisz (who went on to make "The French Lieutenant's Wife" in 1981) stays faithful to the spirit of Sillitoe's novel, never compromising on either the bleakness of his vision or his (over) optimistic faith in his hero's defiance."

Album Notes
Ohio guitar and drums duo Swearing At Motorists perform the pop-influenced songs of singer and guitarist Dave Doughman in a necessarily stripped-down style that emphasizes Doughman's confessional lyrics, which frequently center on his relationships' mishaps and misunderstandings. Doughman makes the best of his monochrome sound palette, adding splashes of keyboard here and there, while a variety of drummers drive the songs with hyper-rock grooves.
Album Reviews
Mojo (p.102) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "The frontman's pinched, electric riffs combine with Joseph Siwinksi's emphatic drumming to give 'Northern Line' an air of heady triumph..." Uncut (p.94) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]heir sixth album is sparse by design, recalling the tin-pot vigour and gutsy emotional bite of their hometown's lo-fi trailblazers Guided By Voices." Magnet (p.113) - "[The] bare pop/rock songs are bolstered by some stirring recurring juxtapositions..."
