Advantages: A rounded collection of timeless classics

...The Last night of the proms has become a British institution. What makes it such an insirational occasion is the music that is so beautifully performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra. A Full concert hall filled with an audience rousing to Jerusalem is really a sight to behold and one that everyone should experience in their lifetime - indeed some do it every year. Jerusalem along with others such as, Sailors Hornpipe Rule Britannia and Pomp and Circumstance Make this CD more than a CD; a Patriotic symbol of our nation.If you have never had the chance to attend the Last Night of the proms then i suggest you do. In the meantime - Buy this CD and learn the words! The last night of the proms is the true home to Jerusalem and as such, many people believe it should replace our current national anthem. enjoy!... Austrian equivalent of The Last Night of The Proms
Review of Vienna 2001 New Year's Concert by  Morgenhund

Advantages: Great sampler, excellent recording.
Disadvantages: Not quite as memorable as being there in person.

...The Vienna New Year's Concert is a tradition somewhat akin to the "Last Night of the Proms" apart from the fact that obviously it is Austrian music that is played, and there is not the same atmosphere. The concert has happened annually since 1939, although originally it used to take place on New Year's Eve rather than New Year's Day, because a poor attendance was feared, after the traditional Austrian "Silvester" revelry. One other difference is that the New Year's Concert is even more exclusive than the Last Night of the Proms, as you have to apply for tickets two years in advance, and they are exceptionally pricey. Indeed applications for the 2003 concert closed on 2nd January this year. It is an event to be seen at, and is also a musical highlight of the Vienna music scene. Moby Music Last Night Album
Review of Last Night - Moby by  costas1234

Advantages: Great Electronic and Dance album
Disadvantages: Some poor tracks and perhaps uses too many music genres

...focus point. The album was released at the end of March of this year, and the total music playing time is just under 65 minutes. A lot of these tracks I find very difficult to describe in great detail as the instrumental sounds from the keyboard and from the DJ's studio prove quite difficult to identify. They are very random and varied. ~Moby Last Night~ 1 oOh Yeah: The first track on the album starts with the title of this track. It does sound strange with its electronic repetition, which is then followed some 90 seconds where the music breaks into some mellow singing, the largely repetitive voice stops for a while and comes back later. It does sound a complete contrast to Moby's more well known and much more famous songs. This would count as a good disco tune in the right venue and a very good opening track. 2 I love to move...
