Advantages: Full of entertaining shows... Disadvantages: ...full of repeats
Of course, it's the wonderful 'Dave'...the artist formerly known as UKTV G2. Not exactly the most exciting of sounding television channels, so they glamourised it...by called it 'Dave'...because everyone knows a Dave.
The concept of the channel is simply a station airing predominantly repeats of entertainment and comedy shows. It doesn't air 24-hours a day, instead it tends to broadcast until approximately 3am each night, and then restarts at 7am, with a bit of mind-boggling Teleshopping thrown in there for good measure.
But what does it show? Well during the day it plays repeats of entertainment shows such as Top Gear, Ray Mear's Extreme Survival, Trawlermen, Traffic Cops and Fifth Gear; all seemingly quite 'manly' shows aimed at blokes called 'Dave' presumably...
As the day's schedule moves on it tends to focus ...

Advantages: Very Funny and probably fascinating if your name is Dave Gorman Disadvantages: Always put on at a late time - deserves prime time slot on BBC1!
the near future. The show is basically the same showDave did in the theatre and consists of Dave Gorman a slide projector and lots of bits of film of different Dave Gormans saying “Hello. My name is Dave Gorman”. Dave gives regular updates on how the graph is looking and whether they are still in the ‘golden cone’ of success, and he shows you his boarding cards to prove he wasn’t lying about their foreign trips. Now this, in itself doesn’t sound like it would make inspiring telly but it turns out to be hysterical.
It became a bit of an obsession at Uni and every Monday we’d discuss the new Dave Gormans he’d met. There was the one who had a cannon in his living room and the one’s who volunteered to have their names changed by deed pole (including two women!). My favourite was ...
Advantages: Inventive, ambitious, some fantastic ideas and characters. Disadvantages: Difficult writing style to get into, loses its way badly towards the end.
