Just listen to the bass line, I am addicted to bass. Naff but nonetheless brilliantly executed Gospel bass in this instance. The quality is up there with "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass. He also gets into character and delivers a very authentic sounding gospel sermon in the middle. It's great, exactly what they're like and because it's a vignette, rather than a message, the result is more Sweary joining in and more laughter. A hint of a Neil Sedaka hiccup to the voice in places. A tip top track! Advantages: Totally mellow - not so much laid back as horizontal - costs peanuts to buy.

...than a room full of velcro hooks - you won't get them out of your head for days, weeks possibly. A hint of future easy listening darkness creeping in here but nothing too scary and it's all the right side of self-indulgent schmaltz. THE SONGS 1. BROTHER LOVE'S TRAVELLING SALVATION SHOW. The reason I chose to buy this album to start with was because I love this song. It's a classic piece of theatre and because it's a vignette, rather than a message you, too, can get into character and join in. A hint of a Neil Sedaka hiccup to the voice in places excellent base and spot on drumming. A tip top track! SCORE: 9/10 2. DIG IT An amazing vocal range in this one - I mean in terms of sound rather than high and low notes - they come later on "If I Never Knew Your Name". Lush, melting singing and instrumentation. Neil Finn is now by himself, with a darker, and more eclectic sound. His first solo album (1998), "Try Whistling This", was a great success in Neil Finn's home Country (New Zealand). Neil Finn has brought with him this time a selection of truely unique artists. Radiohead's Phil Selway(Drums), sebastian Steinberg (Bass), and from "The Smiths", Johnny Marr,(Electric Guitar). A great line up of musicians, making an overall great sound. Neil Finn opens the gig with a great version of the Crowded House Classic " Fall at your Feet".
