Advantages: BRUTAL and kick ass!!!! Disadvantages: None
...Anything played by Nile must be BRUTAL. Notice the word brutal was in capitals. I have never once been dissatisfied by a Nile album, and this one certainly was brutal enough to satisfy me.
The album was released fairly recently, which was July 17, 2007.
The track list on this album is:
1. "What Can Be Safely Written" - 8:15
2. "As He Creates So He Destroys" - 4:36
3. "Ithyphallic" - 4:40
4. "Papyrus Containing the Spell to Preserve Its Possessor Against Attacks from He Who Is in the Water" - 2:56
5. "Eat of the Dead" - 6:29
6. "Laying Fire Upon Apep" - 3:25
7. "The Essential Salts" - 3:51
8. "The Infinity of Stone" - 2:04
9. "The Language of the Shadows" - 3:30
10. "Even the Gods Must Die" - 10:01
Niles style of death metal still hasn't changed from anything but unique and kick...

Advantages: Powerful song structure and the voice of an angel. Disadvantages: Eventually, it comes to an end.
...was released, with better sound quality than the original, a second disk of various un-released studio songs (including the much hunted for 'Forget Her' and several covers such as Screamin' Jay's 'Alligator Wine') was released. In addition to this, there is a DVD with videos of some of the 'Grace' songs and a making-of for them as well.
I bought this album a couple of months ago. It is one of the only albums that I can listen to time and time again without getting bored and with the same passion that I felt when listening to it for the first time - it is simply inspiring. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who has any any passion for music....

Advantages: Not overlong at 10 tracks, gets better with each listen. Disadvantages: Opening track not the strongest.
...All the best records take a few listens (at least) to reveal their true nature. On first play this sounded like a typical 2nd album - longer tracks, less up-tempo. A month on this has to be my favourite CD of 2007. Nearly all the 10 tracks have resolved into fantastic, atmospheric (and not always gloomy!) tales of urban life and escape. Great tunes underpin the songs, with the now-trademark steepling guitar riffs standing out most in the choruses. Some not unwelcome echos of The Smiths are to be found in the lyrics, most obviously in the title track, but tracks like Weight of the World and Escape The Nest are really uplifting, the latter also containing the finest moments on the album with its soaring, thrilling chorus. What a live track that promises to be... Recommended!
Ok then, what about the digipak? Well if you like a glossy...
