ANGELS FALL NORA ROBERTS In this book - "Angels Fall" - Nora Roberts mixes mystery and romance. This book, published in 2006, contains three main subplots in the story -- a murder mystery, Reece's romance with Brody, and Reece's struggle to gain back normality. Ms Roberts manages to incorporate the three aspects together resulting into and novel. The story starts with the heroine, cook Reece Gilmore, as her car has broken down in Angel's Fist, Wyoming. Reece decides decides to stay in the little town for a day - but that day turns into months as she takes a a job as a cook in the local diner, rents the apartment upstairs and settles into town life at Angel's Fist. A Land Army girl from Walker Street

Advantages: A well crafted story set against a backdrop of the 2nd World War
Disadvantages: None in my view.

Review of 'Walker Street' a novel by Irene Roberts. I am reviewing the hard cover version of the book, 320 pages, published by Piatkus Books (27 Mar 1997), ISBN 978-0749903749, jacket price £16.99. The Plot The story begins in September 1940 and follows the adventures of three young women who sign up with the Women's Land Army as their part in the call for women to 'do their bit' during the second world war. The main character is Hannah York, a young London girl who joined up to escape a life of drudgery and hardship in the city. Hannah's mother had died some years earlier and she was alone in the world apart from her violent step-father, Frank. Life was hard for Hannah and the Land Army opened up new horizons for her. Burning from the Inside... and then extinguished

Advantages: Some classic tracks
Disadvantages: Inconsistent

Bauhaus' final studio album from their 80s career feels very much like a collection of songs that was hastily put together, rather than a single, cohesive effort. The reason for this is that effectively that's how the album came about. some of the recordings were made without lead singer Peter Murphy being present, meaning that the other band members had to contribute vocals on a few of the tracks. Nevertheless there are some great songs on this album, most notably "She's in Parties", a quirky but almost poppy track which became probably the most famous on the album. However, the title track wears on you after a little while, and the songs do not seem to go together as well as they do on the band's earlier albums. "Burning from the Inside" is effectively a last spasmodic kick by a band that was already beginning to fall apart. I ...
