Additional notes

Album Notes: Along with figures like John Holt, Cornell Campbell, and Ken Boothe, Alton Ellis was one of the premier vocal stylists of the rocksteady era. With his effortlessly supple croon, he completely transformed American soul standards into distinctly Jamaican creations, often so altering the rhythm and pacing of a tune as to make it unrecognizable. The two-disc set LEGEND compiles 30 tracks from the earliest stages of Ellis's career. "Cry Tuff," "Girl I've Got a Date," and "I'm Just A Guy" are reggae standards that have been subject to many memorable reinterpretations by Jamaican artists over the years, while Ellis's covers of American soul tunes like Tyrone Davis's "Can I Change My Mind" and the Delfonics' "La La Means I Love You" must be heard to be believed.

Ellie
Review of Ellie - Lesley Pearse by  twiggy001

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...In Ellie, by Lesley Pearce, it is centred on two girls, Ellie and Bonny. The two girls meet in post-war Britain in London, and though in character they are the very opposite on one another, they become friends. Ellie is a loving, kind, sweet natured brunette with a sparkling smile, while Bonny is a beautiful but spoilt blonde, who can be deceptive in many ways. Both were separated from their parents during the war as evacuees, and meet after the war has ended and set about making a life for themselves in the glamorous but ruthless life of the theatre. As their friendship continues, Ellie has to face lots of lies and deception from Bonny, but she always abides by Bonnie wishes, no matter how painful they are to herself. I really enjoyed this book, but found the last few chapters a little unbelievable and didn't find them true to... Read review

Alton Towers- What a day
Review of Alton Towers (England) by  marcellep2

Advantages: All in one place, Fantastic grounds, Helpful Staff
Disadvantages: Really just the Q time

...After a visit to Alton Towers theme park, I thought it was about time I complete a review on my experience there. Why Alton Towers We as a group chosen Alton Towers for many reasons, but mainly because it has many fantastic rides that will take your breath away, in addition to the fantastic scenery. We had heard from other friends that it's an adventure for children and adults alike. We wanted to go somewhere that we would have a fantastic time and also be able to get some memorable pictures and stories Getting There We driven from Scotland (Edinburgh) - It taken approximately 5hrs to drive there, that was leaving at 2am and getting to Stoke at 7am. Alton Towers theme park is a 20 min drive from Stoke. Travelling from the North you need to take Junction 15 off the M6, when travelling on the M6 be aware there are... Read review
