Legend (+DVD) - Bob Marley & The Wailers

Advantages: Fantastic tracks, very listenable album
Disadvantages: Sun is SHining is not on it

...Since seeing The Wailers perform at the London Rise Against Racism festival, it reminded me of how many great songs they have in their repertoire with Bob Marley and decided it was long overdue to buy a Best Of compilation. The album starts off with Is This Love the Marley penned classic from 1978 and the song really needs no introduction. It was taken from the Kaya album, which revolved around the duel themes of love and marijuana, and this instance the song was about love. It is a beautiful song, and certainly at the Rise concert, got the crowd singing. It is followed by No Woman, No Cry originally from the Natty Dread album and is about the struggle of life in the Trenchtown, the rundown part of Kingston, Jamaica where Bob grew up with his mother after his father died. Advantages: catchy rhythm, lively music, easy listening and includes marleys best songs
Disadvantages: reggae is not everyones taste in music and can be found boring to some people

...If you have never heard of Bob Marley. He was the most famous reggae singer in the world. The wailers was the name of Bob Marley's backing singers/vocalists. And reggae is a type of music that originated from Jamaica. Also it once got very popular in the united states. This album was made after Bob Marley died. This album includes many of bobs number 1 hits from other albums he produced. Nearly all of bobs songs have a meaning to them. They have a lively beat and also are very catchy songs. Like most albums they include a few songs you dislike and a few songs you really enjoy, I think that this album starts off with the better songs and towards the end they do start to drag a little. But all the way through they have a really great beat to them and a liveliness that are in nearly all of bobs songs except the slower love songs which... Read review
