Advantages: interesting lyrics, punchy titles, strong emotions Disadvantages: i don't think there are any!
...When I first heard 'Whatever People Say IAm, That's WhatI'm Not ' I was a bit sceptical. I thought it was just a bunch of words put to a tune, or another band like 'the streets' or something, but actually, after listening to it a couple of times I started to really enjoy the songs, especially the song 'mardy bum', 'dancing shoes' and 'view from the afternoon'.
True, I'm not sure what a few of them are about, but I like the songs even if Iam not sure of how deep their meaning is.
For example, my friend says 'when the sun goes down' is not about a prostitute or anything, it has a much deeper meaning, but I really enjoy the song thinking it is about exactly that!
The album includes a mixture of types of music, and all the songs are at different speeds and volumes to add a real variety to the album.
My favourite song, bar none is 'I...

Advantages: Some great songs, 42 tracks, less dance tracks! Disadvantages: Some awful songs...
...of the acts featured – Liberty X, Girls Aloud, Sinead Quinn, Darius, Zoë Birkett, One True Voice, Kym Marsh and Ainslie Henderson. Whether this is a good thing and gives talent a chance to shine (my view) or whether this shows the sorry state of today’s pop music is a matter for debate.
However, this does not mean the ‘skip’ button remains redundant for the whole of CD 1. I can’t stand Nelly and his duet with Kelly Rowland (Dilemma) must be a contender for the Song You Hate But Can’t Help Singing award. I also hate Busted as much as my daughters love them, so Year 3000 is not a song that gets played near me, if I have anything to do with it. Jay-Z and Beyonce’s ’03 Bonnie and Clyde is also one to avoid, I find.
In the ‘fair to middling’ range, we have Appleton, Justin Timberlake...

Advantages: Great mix of songs and artists. Disadvantages: Not always the best of the bands hits.
...with some really huge stars and massive hits. Kicking off with "A kind of magic" by Queen it is a great start to what is the better of the 2 CDs. Favourites of mine on this disc include UB40 "Red, red wine" and Duran Duran "Save a prayer" the songs featured are not necessarily the artists best though and songs such as "Thorn in my side" by the Eurythmics or "I found someone" by Cher could have easily been replaced by better known hits. Belinda Carlisle with "Heaven is a place on earth" has always really annoyed me so I tend to skip this track along with Bonnie Tyler's "Total eclipse of the heart" other than those though I find the rest of the tracks enjoyable.
1. A Kind Of Magic - Queen
2. Every Breath You Take - The Police
3. Only You - Yazoo
4. The Tide Is High - Blondie
5. My Girl - Madness
6. Red Red Wine - UB40
