My Dad's a big Bob Marley fan, so I naturally listen to one every now and then. One Father's Day I went out looking to buy a Bob Marley CD for him but I noticed (not everyone may agree) that in his CDs their tends to be a couple of good songs which are well known and then the rest are kinda fillers. I bought him a three cd boxset which only contained about 5 decent songs to my ear that is, my Dad loved them all. Anyway that is not a good ratio. My mum took me to Tescos today after a physiotherapy appointment which absolutely killed my head, that's another story. Anyway now that I am on a basically vegetable diet which cuts the bill down about £20.

I thought what the hell why not buy a CD to chill looking through the CDs, Limp Bizkit, Eminem, Dr Dre, pure garage. Well not much there to relax or chill with then I saw a Bob Marley boxset which contained 3 CDs and was priced at £8.99. I thought that couldn't be right, checked the tag and the label £8.99 it was then I looked at the front cover which list I think Buffalo Soldier, jamming and another and it hit the rest of the songs were basically all fillers. Put the CD down and ready to go about being locked in the house until my next medical appointment.

But then from the corner of my eye I saw Legend The best of Bob Marley and he Wailers. Sounds good 'the best of'. Time for the test turn the cd case over to see all of my fav songs, here's the run down:
1.Is This Love
2.No Woman, No Cry (the fugees came close with their remix but this still rules the roost)
3.Could you be loved
4.Three Little Birds
5.Buffalo Soldier
6.Get Up Stand Up
7.Stir it up
8.One Love/People Get Ready (I remember this song from a fox biscuit add and I was searching MP3s trying to find it to no avail)
9.I Shot The Sheriff (I know some of you wanna say but I did not shoot the deputy, don't worry it's natural, I hope)
10.Waiting in Vain
11.Redemption song
12.Satisfy My Soul
13.Exodus
14.Jamming(one of the best)

There are two things I can't believe there is not one single dud(that you don't like) song and it cost £11.99 when the triple CD cost 8.99 and nearly all the latest releases were around £10, I guess you are paying for quality and what can I say this album is absolute quality.

Anything I like about this Album other than the GREAT music is that the back cover has a short little Para after each song giving an explanation of the song and which album it came from. There is only one track it doesn't give much of an explanation for which is track 7. Here's an example from track 4 "A luscious, bouncing chant to a brand new day, featuring bright, captivating vocal support by the I-Threes. Originally featured on the exodus Album"

If you really listen to the songs such get up Stand up and one love you can really hear the message of the song and it generally I think gives you a lift. Each song has it's own meaning and each song is great another one is exodus just listen to the words and try to imagine what is being said it is amazing. Even if you don't listen to the words and just have it as kind of 'background' music it is still an excellent album.

There are 14 track and the length of the CD is 1hr 2mins of classic Bob Marley at his best. BTW while I am writing this opinion I am actually listening to Bob a boy I feel relaxed (except from the excruciating pain in my head, another story again)

Oh and go out and by this album now especially if you are the workaholic type who needs a bit of R&R.
