Advantages: Great songs, production, lyrics Disadvantages: If you don't like Leonard's voice this won't convert you
We've seen so many times that artists and songwriters who have great success throughout the 60's and the 70's often have a horrendous 80's as they try to keep up with the times. The songwriting becomes bland and the need for synthesisers means that the songs become so electronically ladened that the production becomes the focus over the songs themselves. It fills me with great pleasure to say that in the case of Leonard Cohen and 'I'm Your Man' this is most certainly not the case. It could be argued that prior to this Len was having a creative crisis. The mid 70's and early 80's were just about fair to him but albums were patchy compared to his 60's output and by his own high standards. Just when we thought Len's time was up, he brought us this curious powerhouse.

Advantages: Great for smaller hands. Lightweight. Easy to play. Disadvantages: Floyd Rose Trem. Hard to get parts
I won't bother boring you with the specs of this guitar, if you are looking to buy it you will probably already know them already! Just for reference, the model I have is the orange quilt top with maple fingerboard.

The neck is absolutely incredible, especially for someone with smaller hands. It is my favourite guitar to play, as it suits my hands so well with its narrow neck and short scale, it's much easier than guitars such as PRS and Jacksons of similar price, which have wider necks.
I find the MusicMan does not produce particularly clean sounds when amplified; that is to say ...
Advantages: I've run out of superlatives Disadvantages: None, nyet, nada
-shirt and shades (cool or what?), holding a half-eaten banana in a dignified manner.
Excellent lyrics, with a wry, dry wit which at times spills into open humour. Boring? Music to commit suicide to? Give me a break! Repeating a lie many times makes it no more of a truth. I strongly suspect many of those who have moaned at Leonard Cohen have never heard one of his sons, or haven't listened properly if they did. Or haven't the ability to understand. As for me? He's MY man!!!! ...
