Heres the case in point: just weeks ahead of the start of the bands 2008 Queen + Paul Rodgers' The Cosmos Rocks tour the band were approached to help Ukraines AntiAids Foundation reach out to the youth of the country with the message 'Dont Let Aids Ruin Your Life'. Despite the difficulties involved, Queen + Paul Rodgers made it to Freedom Square for the night of September 12, 2008. Over 350,000 Ukrainians came to see them play and more than 10million homes watched the show live on television. In all, more than 20 million took part in what the band recall as "an unforgettable experience... one of those rare things in life you know you will never forget. A meeting in Music, but also a coming together to fight a common enemy..."
Album Notes: This live recording of one of the world's best-loved bands in their most controversial incarnation at least shows that they are as popular as ever. With ex-Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers they've ushered in a new dynamic and some new material to play (mostly from Rodgers' back catalogue). The first disc, though, concentrates on that classic Queen oeuvre, taking in such highlights as 'One Vision', 'I Want To Break Free' and 'Fat Bottomed Girls'. The concert itself also takes in instrumental solos from founders Roger Taylor and Brian May, both still virtuosos.
Advantages: The dvd is great it is like you are at the actual show Disadvantages: some of the camra shots are blury
...this dvd is great being at the show was an amazing experence seening queen back together again. I went to the gig in hyde park which was amazing me and some mates sitting down isternin to the greats, what more could you want.
This dvd is great, it combinds Queen's greaist hits and some of paulrodgersin Free.
after the gig before hyde park i heard lots of rumers of it was going to be ubbish and paulrodgers was nothing like freddy, but he wsn't trying to be like freddy he was trying to addapt freddys style and make it his own.
thisdvd makes you feel like you are at the gig becauses of te sounds, the filming is amazing....

Advantages: Some fantastic songs that benefitted from a live atmosphere. Disadvantages: Some tracks didn't work vocally, a little Beatle bias.

OVERALL
On the whole, both disks of the 'Paul McCartney - Back In The World' Live CD, provide some fascinating and moving performances from a man who has been in the forefront of the public spotlight his entire life. There is no denying that the man knows exactly how to write amazing pop songs, whether it is a solo effort, with his now Late Wife, Linda, or with the most talked about band in history and the most awe inspiring song writing duo to ever grace the planet.
I can't deny that there are some drawbacks to this double disk set. Some of the songs could have been sung better but, because of the live atmosphere, it's easy to let this slide. The only one where it is perhaps...

Advantages: Stacks upon stacks of extra features. Disadvantages: Unecessary inclusion of 4:3 ratio version.
...Now, Men in Black was already a superb film. What has always been good about it is it's perfect suitability to just plonk yourself down and watch it on the spur of the moment.
With the incredible amount of extra features included on this DVD you will be plonking yourself down for a considerable time to come.
All of the features are perfectly matched to the style of the film. My particular favourites are the out-takes (an excellent one involving the out of control ball seen - without the ball) and the scene editing workshop. At least you can have a go at putting a film together.
My only criticism is that the whole DVD fills you with a feeling of greed and you can't help but want more....
