Let there be light

Advantages: light consistency, actually works!
Disadvantages: expensive

I thought I'd summarise first: top of the range concealer, expensive but worth it, outstanding product. ******** This excellent product has been recommended to me over and over by friends, colleagues and clients (I'm a beauty therapist). It's very pricey - around £20 - but many beauticians and make up artists rate it as their number one make up item. In a rather elegant gold 'pen' style dispenser, Touche Eclat is a very lightweight concealer which is particularly helpful around the eye area. When it was first introducted, Yves Saint Laurent ran out regularly and it was only obtainable via a waiting list. I had tried loads of products to get rid of dark circles around my eyes which made me look like I needed a good night's sleep. Most are too heavy, drag the skin and wear off quickly ...

Let There Be Morning

Advantages: some good songs
Disadvantages: can be fairly sombre in places, difficult to get hold of

. And they do fit into that style of music well, although I suppose in a sense that does make some of their songs sound a little depressing. Let There Be Morning is their second album, but their first album to be released in North America Track Listings: 1. Weekends 2. Sway 3. Reminder 4. My Heart 5. Nothing Like You and I 6. Trouble Sleeping 7. Still Here 8. Going Out 9. Pills 10. Let There Be Morning As I said before they have been likened to the likes of Keane and that is probably one of the reasons I like them. The type of sound they have is similar to Keane with their Hopes and Fears album and not so much their new one (not that I've heard much of that one, but it seems a little more upbeat.). Quite a few of the songs have a fairly sombre mood to them, and can be thought provoking, but I wouldn't say that ...

There will be Oscars

Advantages: An immediate classic
Disadvantages: As it never doubts its viewers' intelligence it's not for everyone

Ostensibly 'There will be Blood' is a film about oil, what it's actually about is much harder to define. The bare bones of the plot are taken from a 1927 novel, straightforwardly titled 'Oil!', and at its simplest it's the story of Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis) and his rise to wealth and power in that business over the first thirty years of the 20th Century. The bulk of the narrative takes place in the California community of Little Boston, which Plainview descends on after a tip they're sat on top of an ocean of oil. Here he meets resistance from Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), the local self-styled church leader, and competition from larger oil companies. As its title suggests 'There will be Blood' is concerned with religion, and fittingly its themes are large and biblical. It is a film about fathers and sons, about duelling brothers ...
