...ain’t no tits on the radio” suggests that whoever wrote it has never heard of Chris Evans. Whether the Scissor Sisters have or not, “Tits on the Radio” is an almost disco sounding tune, with a funky bass beat that’s perhaps just a little too slow to be a 70’s disco number. Notable for being the only song where Ana Matronic takes lead vocals and some of the most risqué lyrics on the album, it’s let down by the falsetto on the chorus, which is a little distracting. I keep thinking of the theme of “The South Bank Show” whenever “Filthy/Gorgeous” kicks in, but it’s soon apparent that there’s another disco tinged number in the offing. It’s more up tempo than the previous track and so a little truer to its disco roots and has the kind of beat that gets your feet moving, although the falsetto vocals sound a little less out of place this time... ...**Introduction** I have just purchased the album by the Scissor Sisters. Now when I purchased this I had only heard Laura, Comfortably Numb and Take your Mama. So the other songs, being slightly different were a nice surprise for me. For example the song Return to Oz reminds me so much of David Bowie’s music, which I also love. For me this album re-kindled old flames and brought back good memories, by the style and choice of music. The Scissor Sisters are a fairly new band (compared to most), they have rocked the world with their lyrics, tantalised the teens with their hip appearance and even pampered the parents with their memories of ‘the good old times’ which is brought upon them by the fact that each song takes you back to a different place and sounds similar to a lot of olden day rock bands.
