Advantages: Stunning tracks, beautiful arrangements Disadvantages: The Heaven Re-mix!
Libera is vocal group of boys aged from seven to sixteen years. The total number of members in the group varies slightly from year to year, as the group changes on a regular basis. Most of the boys are members of St. Philips Choir (Norbury, South London). For the New Dawn album, 24 boys from a variety of schools and backgrounds were bought together to create a distinctive sound - most of the choristers are trebles, and sing male soprano parts.
The group is directed by Robert Prizeman, who often composes some of the music and rearranges other well known classical melodies to best show the talents of the members of Libera.
So onto the album, New Dawn had a UK release date of 3rd March 2008, and a US release date of 2nd September 2008. The album comprises of 15 tracks, 14 new and a re-mix of Heaven (from the album Free). The sound is ...

Advantages: Another great CD from Libera Disadvantages: One or two weaker tracks
This CD is another good CD by Libera, and in my opinion this one is the best. It is definitely the best one that I have heard. I recently purchased this CD at about £10 or £11 from amazon.co.uk and have thoroughly enjoyed listening to the CD.
The CD contains 13 great tracks. These include the amazing tracks like:
Locus Iste (based on Pachelbels Canon and contains the amazing Sanctus sung by them)
Prayer
Wings of a Dove (not the traditional version - a much better new version)
New Day
We are the Lost (based on the poem about Flanders Fields)
Sing for Ever
Abide with Me (a stunning version of this well known and well loved hmyn)
Also there are other good tracks like:
Sempiterna
Always with you
Ave Maria
Something sings
These tracks being really good also are just slightly less good than those ones mentioned above ...
Advantages: Good selection Disadvantages: Not really representative as a "best of"
Generally speaking I think "Best of/Hits" compilations of one band are a good idea, especially on CDs, as it allows both the poorer ones among us to renew our aged vinyl collection and 'newbies' to a band to get a good feel for them before leaping into the rest of their material.
However "Eternally Damned - The Very Best of The Damned" I find to be quite a misrepresentation of the bands' 25 year career and numerous albums (I have 11 but I'm sure there's more!). How all that can be summarised on one 20 track CD I can't fathom, and on this one it definitely hasn't been. True, there's a glut of 'Best of' albums for The Damned - "The Light at the End of the Tunnel" being currently the best one of the bunch.
"Eternally Damned" misses out great chunks, in my opinion, with certain eras of the bands' career being missed altogether. This is ...
