Advantages: Catchy tunes, old skool beats
Disadvantages: Theirs lyrics can be pretty dire and probably quite embarrassing to them now.

One listen to the back catalogue of Beastie Boys records will reveal an ever evolving style, no two albums sound alike. Lisenced to Ill was the first album made by the Brooklyn trio, and it shows. Their views towards women can only be described as primitive. On 'Girls', a dreadful track, backed by a racey melody on a glockenspiel has the chorus,'Girls, to do the dishes, girls, to clean up my room, girls, to do the laundry, girls, and in the bathroom. ...
...described by the boys as a joke, a charicature of male teenage culture, and yet at the time it seems no one was being let in on it. There isn't a hint of irony on the track to distance them from this lowest common denominator stuff. Despite their somewhat unenlightened views this album does contain some great tracks, the aforementioned 'Fight for you right' is a fantastic party track.
