Advantages: So educational and interesting. Beautiful footage Disadvantages: None what so ever!
interesting, but it's a dvd that we have found ourselves watching over and over again.
I really like the music that plays at the opening of each disc. It is really moving, intense orchestral music which fits in really well with the series. It is a nice addition to an already wonderful series.
This series is part of a wider series from David Attenborough called 'The Life Collection' which consists of 'The Life Of Birds', 'Trials Of Life', 'Life In The Freezer', 'The Life Of Mammals', 'The Private Life Of Plants', 'The Living Planet, 'Life On Earth' and 'Life In The Undergrowth'.
I bought this for £34.99 from Amazon, but it is on there right now for £22.98 (which is an absolute bargain!) I have also seen the 'Life' series in HMV.
The dvd is an 'E' which means that it is exempt from BBFC.
It is produced by Richard Brock and John Sparks ...
Advantages: educational, interesting & cheap to buy Disadvantages: feature length
did make me appreciate our planet, and help me realise how big and beautiful it really is. When watching it is a spectacular scene of both underwater and mountain high landscapes, and helping us understand what creatures and animals live where they do and how.
Who? Where? When? What? Why?
This documentary will astonish everyone who watches it and make you want to travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world.
This documentary suits all ages and will educate young people to how the world works and why animals eat each other. However there is scenes of animal violence involved it isnt anything off-putting. Included is the diarys of the camera team on set and a behind the scenes look at the making of PLANETEARTH.
I would recommend anyone who doesnt have this to buy it, it is a must have for all DVD collectors, animal ...
Advantages: Fantastic Camera Shots Disadvantages: A Few Gory Scenes Of Animals Hunting
at that time someone had told me that greater things were to follow well quite frankly I wouldn't have believed them.
Yet here we are 26 years after "Life on Earth" first hit our screens in 1979 and with the benefit of the latest high definition cameras here we have something newer and more modern than anything that Attenborough has come close to bringing us to before.
Episode 1 - Pole to Pole
This first episode takes a detailed look at the Planet as a whole with a strong emphasis on the importance of the Sun, and the fundamental role that it plays in the continued existence of all life on our Planet.
The photography is sensational throughout and begins with scenes from the two Polar extremes. The first shots that we see are a group of thousands of King Penguins huddled in the 24 hour darkness of Antarctica in temperatures below -70 ...
