Life for Rent was the best selling album of 2003, achieving the number one spot in the album charts after it was released September 2003. The album sold a remarkable 2.2 million copies in three months. Its release followed 2 sucessful singles; 'White Flag' reaching no. 2 and 'Life for Rent' gaining no.8 in the British singles charts.
The album has been very sucessful so far, but what can I tell you that would encourage you to go and buy a copy?

Dido Armstrong has a beautiful singing voice which has an enchanting strength and unique tone to it. Her London accent is evident when she sings, which separates her from the thousands of American-twanged voices in British pop music today. Her music, recorded with her brother Rollo from the band, 'Faithless' is mellow, soulful and indie all rolled into one, I can only describe it as a combination of Ella Fitzgerald singing Coldplay.

The best tracks on this album in my opinion are 'white flag' and 'sand in your shoes'. The lyrics are creative, the music is impressively simple and they are easy to sing along to!

Like most albums, 'Life for Rent' has a couple of tracks that are a little disappointing. 'Stoned', the second album on the track was, for me, a bit muffled, and 'See you when you're 40' was uninspiring, but remember these songs are incomparison to the rest of the album!

You'll love this album if you find times in your day where background music is apt; but also where time alone to relax is needed.
