After Girls Aloud's first two hits ; Sound Of The Underground and No Good Advice , Life Got Cold let us see the more chilled out side of Girls Aloud. I really like this song. I think it is one of Girls Aloud's best songs. The vocals are good on this track ; It's mainly Cheryl , Nadine and Nicola singing on this track. It's a very chilled out upbeat ballad. I think the lyrics are thought provoking. "We text as we eat" and "We text as we talk". then took a few months to record their debut album, also entitled 'Sound Of The Underground' which was a good move as it turned out to be better than anyone could have ever expected receiving appraisal from none other than NME magazine among others. In May 2003 both the single 'No Good Advice', another disco stomp of a single, and album were released, both going straight in at no.2 in the charts cementing girlsaloud's status as the new girl group on the scene. The next single 'LifeGotCold', a ballad reminiscent of Oasis's wonderwall, was released in August 2003 going into the charts at no.3. Album sales had slumped a little so in November 2003 the girls released 'Jump' a high-energy, techno thumping beats cover of a Pointer Sisters song which helped the album sales increase and also features on the soundtrack for the movie 'Love Actually ...
Advantages: A variety of styles, not just pop music, no bad tracks on the album. Disadvantages: Not to everyone's taste.
, citing comparisons with rock legends Blondie and, erm, The Bangles.
Louis Walsh had the last laugh over Pete Waterman, who watched One True Voice lose one member then disappear into the deep void of chart cast-offs. GirlsAloud continued to flourish and achieve success with their second and third singles – No Good Advice and LifeGotCold.
But is the album any good? Or are their singles the only decent tracks? Read on to find out my opinion…
GirlsAloud are Nicola Roberts (the redhead), Nadine Coyle (the Irish one with the long legs), Sarah Harding (the member most likely to show her cleavage), Cheryl Tweedy (the controversial one) and Kimberley Walsh (the other one). Their look is an effective mixture of the styles of various decades. It is a glamorous one, but also streetwise. Their image can be copied by young fans. My ...

'n'roll phenomenon, and bands like the Crystals, the Shangri-Las's and the Ronettes were top of the tree, with their sass, lashings of eyeliner and bad-girl posturing. GirlsAloud follow in the same vein as these.
'LifeGotCold', another single, cools the pace down a touch, and reminds me a little bit of 'Wonderwall' when it starts to break into the chorus. The song is an aching yearning for lost youth, for what the girls have left behind, which is amusing considering how new the band are to the popworld and how young they all still are.
The sloping, lazy groove of 'All I Need/All I Don't' lures us in with its hypnotic beats and sloth-like vocals. 'Some Kind Of Miracle' is easily the best song on the album, evoking memories of the Bangles 'Manic Monday' as well as classics from the 60's, it has a timeless effect and should have been released as ...
