Life in a Cartoon Motion ( Universal) This camp and sound alike Freddie mercury has exploded on to the music scene this year and has already shot to number one with single Grace Kelly, which catapulted him to number one and superstardom. He could be around for a long time to come
Life in a Cartoon is Mika's (pronounced Meeka) is his debut album. The 23 year old born in Lebanon could go along way. Some might say the further the better but if you like Freddy Mercury and the Scissor Sisters you should like Mika.
Mika has an Amazing voice and the album is full of tunes that are as catchy as hell. The CD makes a great start with Number one single Grace Kelly and is followed by Lollipop silly but bouncy. Another good song is Love Today definitely chart material. Billy Brown could also make the charts it's the story of a gay man who can't make his mind up if he wants men or women.
If you want more of Mika carry on listening after the last track called Happy Ending there's a secret song called Ring Ring Whoops it's not a secret now is it. Some artists need to entertain some are just needy. Which one is Mika? I think he is a brilliant singer and is tipped to be the breakthrough artist of 2007.. Full track list

1 Grace Kelly This was his debut single and shot to number one thanks to download sales. Currently most listened to track on my space shows off influences of the Scissor Sisters. It's catchy a great pop song and you can't help singing along'.2 Lollipop A silly song almost childlike good to dance to with a bouncy chorus.
3 My Interpretation Is a pleasant mid tempo ballad constucted around piano melodies and a powerful guitar with some Queen-esque high notes.
4 Love Today I hope he makes it his next single " Love Today" is another winner, and already featured on the Red campaign in the states.This is one of the catchiest tunes on the album It's a high camp pop tune sung in a fabulously pitched voice. Once youv'e played it you want to hear it over and over again.
5 Relax, Take it easy This is one of the most camp tracks on the album. Already released as a download- only track on iTunes as a limited edition (500 copies) that sold out very quickly. Nice song with Mikas powerful lilting vocals.
6 Any other world Mixes strings with atmospheric verses. I liked this song least on the album. It's not bad but it's not good either, pretty dreary really and lacking emotion.
7 Billy Brown The story of a gay man who can't make his mind up discovering his sexuality. Freaking out and running away . Clever , funny with blasting brass and harmonies.
8 Big Girl ( You are Beautiful) Written in a few minutes in the middle of the night. Mika's attempt to poke fun at stick thin modelsand there size zero culture. A song that cheers you up with lyrics that make you chuckle.
9 Stuck in the Middle Not an original title for a song it's been well used before.It's a bouncy song with great lyrics and harmonising. My second favourite song on the album.
10 Happy Ending The penultimate track (There's the secret one) great songwriting lovely track the piano led Happy Ending.
11 Ring Ring This track is hidden away at the end of the album. A soft acoustic falsetto duet with Mika and talented guitarist Marti. Ring Ring is a nice song and completely heartbreaking.
This album is beautifully written and impossible not to like. Mika has a great voice and I've played the tracks over and over again. I suppose I've been a little bit addicted to his music. I think this is a great CD and well worth a listen, well worth the money. Go out and buy it.

Advantages: A wider range of music - amazing! Disadvantages: May not appeal to all tastes. Fantastic tracks mean that other 'not-so-great' songs (not many) are unfairly compared.
