Mika must be one of the most unqiue talents to explode onto the music scene in recent times. Sounding almost like a young Freddie Mercury, crossed with Robbie Williams his debut album, hot on the heels of the single Grace Kelly, would be interesting.
Mika is a Lebanese born, London based singer, with a huge vocal range, displayed in the first track of this album, Grace Kelly, with a poppy Darkness style sound. It's annoyingly catchy, and is a great summery tune.
This is followed by Lollipop, another catchy, annoying tune, although, for some reason, this is a slight disappointment to be after the energy of the first track.
My Interpretation follows, with a slower piano start. This is more of a ballad with a lot of pianos, and a strong chorus. This is one of the more Robbie Williams style tracks, and shows that Mika's not just a one trick pony.
Love today follows, which must be one of the most annoyingly catchy tracks ever. It follows a similar style to Grace Kelly, and the chorus and the la de la de la style parts of this song makes it really stick in your head.
Relax take it easy is a very electronic scissor sisters style sound. When I first heard this on the radio, I was certain it was scissor sisters!
Any other world is back to the Robbie Williams style power ballad, and sounds like the sort of track ideal for a Christmas single, with the choirs and the strings.
Billy Brown sees us back with the poppy catchy plinky piano style of the first track, but in my opinion, this isn't as catchy. In my opinion, this is a filler track.
Big girl - you are beautiful follows, another electronic scissor sisters track, but the melodies spoil what could be an amazing track. It just isn't catchy enough for me.
Stuck in the middle is another scissor sisters style track.
Happy ending is a power ballad - a very strong ending to this album, it ends like it starts - with a bang!
On the whole, this album doesn't disappoint. There's only 2 tracks that I'm not overly keen on, but the rest of the album makes up for this. It's not original, but anyone who likes the scissor sisters or Queen should like this album. It's a good fun album which doesn't take itself seriously, and well worth a listen

Advantages: A wider range of music - amazing! Disadvantages: May not appeal to all tastes. Fantastic tracks mean that other 'not-so-great' songs (not many) are unfairly compared.
