Its been a hard 2 or 3 years in the music business for Pop music. Indie bands took over the country as Pop bands and singers faded out or split. Pop fans lived off the Pop tracks of McFly or stuck to myspace where they discovered up and coming singers of the time such as Lily Allen. But it was not something that could last forever, and as some artists brought some hints of pop back and Take That came back old and wrinkly, it was time for a singer to come back and change it all. That is when Mika came in.
Truthly, his success story did not start until his second release, as in 2006 Mika tried to release his later hit 'Relax, Take It Easy', which failed to gain interest anywhere as near as it did after he rose and took over as one of the best male solo artists of the year. Grace Kelly was release towards the beginning of 2007 and was where proper Pop music should have been decared back - and better as ever! With its catchy sing-a-long lyrics and its fun video - it was a joy for the majority of us.
2nd on this CD is a later release, Lollipop. One of the most viewed ever videos on youtube - this song was sure to be a hit and is favored by many thousands of people. Its clever, again fun and sing-a-long lyrics were great for any age, which ever way interpreted. And while talking about Interpretation, my interpretation follows which could have easily again become a hit single for Mika.
4th on this CD is Love Today, with repeated lyrics ' Everybody's gonna love today, gonna love today, gonna love today" as part of the chorus, this is proof of how loving and fun this track is. It in some ways reminds me of childhood, where everyone was happy and care-free.
My favourite track of the album is 5th on the album, a track of which I spoke of earlier. Relax, Take it Easy does exactly what it says on the tin to you. Its nice to relax and listen to, or if in a fun and excited mood, dance around the house and sing along which a bad high pitched voice!
Any Other World is in some ways different compared to most of the tracks on this album, starting with talking of a troubled woman, and following with a song of more meaning. In fact, it differs massively to the 6th track on the album, Billy Brown, which is again fun to listen to and surprises and entertains as Billy Brown 'fell in love with another man' at the end of the song, to the listeners surprise.
The next track was one of which had the whole country dancing, whether big or small. 'Big Girls (You Are Beautiful)' most probably made bigger women a lot happier with their size, with its friendly lyrics and pop tune, but I would recommend that big people should still lose their weight even with Mika finding them beautiful, as it is not really very good for you.
Stuck in the middle is another non-single which brings what by this point in the album you would expect. Fun, Pop and a whole lot more.
The 10th track, 'Happy Ending', is more of a ballad compared to other tracks by Mika. Its spectacular, leading up to a loud amazing ending, and is full of lyrics to learn very quickly, and again probably one to have a go at badly on the karaoke machine, preferably while no one is watching.
The bonus track, 'Ring Ring', is good enough to have been classed as a normal album track with the usual Mika talent.
This is an album to listen to whether in a happy mood, or in one of which you need cheering up. A great album full of songs to sing-along to in the shower while no one can here you! Mika is certainly a star, and one of which I am sure many people would enjoy listening to.

My nephew loves Grace Kelly so when I hear it now it makes me smile thinking of him. You might want to put some paragraphs in as it'll make it easier to read.

Mika was someone I never thought I could enjoy but have actually grown to him, and it's funny this review should pop up after last night I heard a funny quote. "Sit next to me on the tube listening to Mika and I'll punch your face in." Love it.

Advantages: A wider range of music - amazing! Disadvantages: May not appeal to all tastes. Fantastic tracks mean that other 'not-so-great' songs (not many) are unfairly compared.
