Well David Gray is back with yet another fairly succesful album.
I brought this album after hearing the single The one i love.. i thought that the tune was great and the lyrics were fab. I never really was a fan of David Gray but i did like a few of his previous singles so i thought i'd buy the album.
Although the album is good each song sounds almost the same. He sings about the same kind of things and each melody doesn't differ very much.
Like many other Albums from good artists i find myself skipping songs to get to the ones that i like.
Songs include:
Alibi The one i love Lately Nos Da Cariad Slow motion From here you can almost see the sea AInt no love Hospital Food Now and Always Disappearing world.
David Gray is an extremely talented man and is all about the music. Out of the 10 songs on the Album he wrote 5 of them. He also co produced it and played a lot of the instruments for each song (Piano, Acoustic & Electric Guitar, Harmonium, Wurlitzer & Melodica)
If you are looking for an uplifting album then this probably isn't the one for you.
Having said all that the good songs on the album are very good and in my opinion they are:
The One i Love Lately Aint No love Now and Always
It's not a CD that stays in my Stereo for too long, but i do every now and then feel a life in slow motion thing coming on and i pop it in the stereo and listen to the fantastic and unique sound of Mr David Grays Voice.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
I have read but not rated, as I have this album and I wouldn't say that all the songs are the same or that the melodies are very similar. If you can say more about each track and say why you like the ones that you do, let me know and I will come back and leave a rating. Liz

Advantages: Melancholy, thought provoking lyrics, beautiful emotionally loaded vocals-just lovely. Disadvantages: Bit mellow and sometimes the songs blend in to each other a bit.
Advantages: Wide range of music; some truly great tracks; consistently high quality Disadvantages: Very few, perhaps only that it is very slighty shorter than previous albums
