Lines Vines and Trying Times is the latest release from the Jonas Brothers and their fourth studio album. Kevin, Nick and Joe have matured since their last album (A Little Bit Longer) and so has their music.
The album has 12 tracks and a bonus song Keep It Real from the Jonas's disney channel show Jonas. The album sees the use of horns incorporated into songs which is a new edition to the usual instrument line up.
These are the songs: 1. “World War III” - 3:11 2. “Paranoid” - 3:38 3. “Fly with Me” - 3:54 4. “Poison Ivy” - 4:04 5. “Hey Baby” - 3:17 6. “Before the Storm” (featuring Miley Cyrus) - 4:26 7. “What Did I Do to Your Heart” - 3:17 8. “Much Better” - 4:34 9. “Black Keys” - 3:48 10. “Don’t Charge Me for the Crime” (featuring Common) - 3:57 11. “Turn Right” - 3:03 12. “Don’t Speak” - 3:49
The first single of the album Paranoid is a catchy tune and will have you singing along in no time. Before the Storm, featuring Nick's ex Miley Cyrus, is a powerful collaboration and quite an emotional song. Much Better in my opinion is the best song on the album. The use of horns and the boys voices are a perfect match making it a perfect song. Don't Charge Me for the Crime was a brave jump for them as it included a rap, personally not my favourite but they weren't afraid to try something new so kudos to them.
Maybe some of the lyrics could have been more meaningful especially on songs such as 'Hey Baby and What Did I Do to Your Heart' but overall, Lines Vines and Trying Times is definitely an album for the Jo Bros to be proud of.
